GPS/CHA is the only preschool who utilizes the international baccalaureate/IB curriculum in the SFV. The classes are the perfect size for teachers to really know their students' personalities and learning styles. Because of the IB program my children are challenged in class as well as in their specialty classes. They are growing up to be confident learners and leaders, which will be an asset when they transition into high school. The school community feels like a family, which we love most of all.

Granada Preparatory School is by far one of the best schools I have seen. In my experience, I have seen teachers go above and beyond for their students' needs in the class room. There is a sense of community and camaraderie on this campus that is refreshing to see. We can see that the administration and staff truly care for the students' entire well- being.

As a teacher myself, finding the perfect school was overwhelming and tough for my family. As a parent, you want the best for your child and that's exactly what you will receive at GPS. We're beyond thankful to have our son at GPS. The staff, teachers, students, and families are unmatched. The staff is well trained and informed in IB education, caring, and really devoted to their work. Students guide their own learning and the teachers and staff help keep students on track, leading them to grow and develop as students and human beings. So glad we are a part of this community.

My daughter has been at GPS for 2 years, and we have had a great experience so far. I plan to start my younger daughter in their Junior Kindergarten program next year as well. The school is small, which allows for a personalized and supportive approach in the classroom and helps the kids feel connected to the school and to each other. My daughter has a very favorable view of school and learning, and I credit that to GPS. It's a family environment where the staff get to know all the students, and the parents are friendly and involved. The IB curriculum is academically strong, world-minded, and the school offers a diverse range of subjects to the kids throughout the week. I wanted my daughter to be able to learn a second language while in elementary school, and the IB program gives her a chance to take Spanish classes. My daughter also has tech classes, art, and P.E. a few times a week with different teachers for each subject. I think it's wonderful to have so many different role models and teachers she can look up to and learn from. Communication from her teacher has been solid- we get weekly emails about what they are learning and what they did that week, in addition to a weekly school-wide newsletter. Teachers are very reachable and show care and support for the students.

We are very fortunate to have found GPS. We currently have our four year old in pre-K and our six year old in first grade. The IB curriculum has provided a comprehensive education that is rigorous as well responsive to the strengths of our children. The growth in social awareness and confidence in both boys have been outstanding. The verbal skills of our four year old have exploded. Special shout out to the amazing music teacher Mr Silva. When we enrolled our oldest in a music school privately, our son was way ahead in terms of knowing his notes as well as creating rhythms on his own. We really appreciate how approachable, flexible, and responsive the teachers, administrators and other staff are. We do not worry about safety once they are in school. It's like having a security blanket. They also have extra curricular activities after school that we take advantage of. This includes painting, jiu-jitsu, sports, lego robotics and dance. Our sons come home very excited to share what they learn in these classes every day. The best part is the families that are part of this community. We have quickly become friends with many of the parents and appreciate how engaged the families are. We highly recommend GPS to any family looking for an outstanding education while building the foundation for children with great character.

My children have attended this school since they started their school years. Even with the big change of switching campuses a few years ago, many of the same teachers and families have remained, which maintained the same family-oriented and supportive energy that we have always loved in the first place. Students come and go, but my children are happy and comfortable here. The smaller class sizes allow my children’s education to be more individually focused, which creates a more enticing environment for the students. The teachers have great relationships with not only the students, but are very engaged with the parents. I appreciate how the teachers make an effort to ensure that parents stay involved in their children’s education and diligently communicate via email and in person. This school has taught my children to become more confident, caring, knowledgable, and creative individuals.

My son’s been attending GPS since he was 2 1/2 yrs old. He is in Jr Kindergarten now, and I look forward to having him continue his studies at GPS for elementary school and possibly onwards. It’s a great community, the teachers are involved and caring, and my husband and I feel he is learning a lot. He is inquisitive, he applies critical thinking skills, he is creative, and enjoys learning. He’s happy at school, he likes his teachers a lot, and his classmates. Of course there are other private schools around the area, but we chose carefully and believe that a school that offers the IB Program suites the foundation we want our son to have. Before we chose GPS, I spoke to a colleague of mine, whose kids attended Chatsworth Hills Academy (now Granada Prepatory School). I asked how her experience was with the school, and if she would recommend the school? She had nothing but great things to say and what stood out to me was that she firmly believes that the school helped shape the way her kids are now. So we’re really happy to have our son here.

I am a teacher at Granada Preparatory School. I joined GPS due to the sense of community, diverse campus and IB curriculum. It has been an outstanding experience teaching such wonderful students and working alongside such incredible dedicated, hard working individuals. The administration, staff, and families, are extremely supportive. The curriculum I teach every day prepares the students to be globally minded, well rounded, and critical thinkers. I couldn't be more pleased with all that GPS has to offer!

We are so happy with this school! GPS is one of the best choices I’ve ever made. The warmth, personal connection, and consistent interaction with staff, because it’s a small school, is always exceptional. Even better than other private schools we checked out, who did not make me feel so comfortable. We’ve also tried another school in LAUSD and my son absolutely wanted to go back to GPS after 2 months, and this was a school highly recommended by friends. He felt like the curriculum was insufficient to what he was learning at GPS, he was bored, there were not enough art, music, or tech classes, and also he feels more cared for by staff, they know exactly who he is. Bullying is non existent. And, very importantly, we have complete on grounds access to our children! We are encouraged to be on campus, unlike LAUSD. I don’t have to wonder what my son’s experience is like, I can see with my own eyes. Research the IB program and you’ll see why this school is essential for a future with global mindedness.

My daughter is a first grader at Granada Preparatory School (formerly Chatsworth Hills Academy). We love this school because it cultivates an environment of inclusion. The IB program promotes children to become internationally minded leaders who recognize common humanity, creating a better world. The curriculum focuses on units of inquiry and some of the most recent ones for K-1st grade were "communication," where they learned about the different components needed to communicate and "healthy choices healthy me," where they explored food groups, hygiene, anatomy, organs and more.In addition to language arts, math and science, the school also offers specialty programs 2-3 times per week that include tech, art, music, Spanish and PE. The specialty programs expand for higher grades as well. Many members of the administration came from Chatsworth Hills Academy and continue to foster an inclusive environment for my daughter that will prepare her for academic and personal success. I'm so grateful my kiddo is a student at GPS and I highly recommend this school to any family.

We are very glad we joined the school and so pleased to know that our children are benefiting from a rich range of learning experiences, encouraged to learn through experience and make interdisciplinary connections, and guided by trustworthy, skilled professionals.

I can't disagree more with the last review. We've been here several years now and behavioral problem are not the norm and none of my child's classmates have education or psychological problems. It's like this parent is taking about a completely different school! Read the other reviews and take a tour of the new campus that the school is moving to in Fall 2020.

We enrolled our child in this school because we are strong supporters of the IB program. We were naive to think other parents thought the same. Most of the kids in our child's class were there because they all had psychological or educational problems. Behavioral problems were the norm and there were rarely consequences. One student continually licked others (in the middle school) and invaded their personal space without consequence, bullying was not dealt with either. It was telling that in the summer of 2018 half the students enrolled in the school left. We should have as well. If you enroll be aware that they are merging with a religious (Christian) School in 2020-2021, so if you do not want that kind of education you will have to move your child in after a year.

I have been a parent at CHA for nearly 8 years. Their program, which begins at the Early Childhood level and continues through 8th grade is amazing. The IB program really helps the children drive their own learning. The teachers are supportive and proactive. And, to top it off, the campus is set in a beautiful, natural setting. I have two children that love going to school every day and couldn't be any happier with how their education is progressing here.

Our family has been part of the CHA family for 11 years now. Our children have each had many years of great experiences here that they would undoubtedly not receive anywhere else. The community of CHA is a wonderful place not only for the students, who have the opportunity to know pretty much every student and all of the faculty, but for the families and extended families as well. This is how the community aspect comes to be. There are opportunities for parents to be included and involved in their children’s educational journeys, as well as in other aspects of volunteering-with respect, consideration and value of everyone’s time. It’s a place unlike any other.

The natural beauty of this campus is second to none. CHA is the perfect environment for students to grow and thrive and now as one of the only International Baccalaureate World Schools, CHA creates exemplary learning opportunities! We love Chatsworth Hills Academy!

There is a real community feel within the school. With the IB program, the children are not just learning their abcs and 123s. They're learning to inquire and think critically; and not just about their community, but globally.

We have joined CHA this year and we love it. During summer break, my son could wait to go back to school. CHA has a very supportive system, teachers and staff. You feel that the whole school is one unity. This is understood as they practice the IB program and live with the idea of the tribe spirit in CHA.
