Do Not be fooled by their title as a "Charter School". Their resources are limited: NO ACCESS to a school library, the children must eat outside and are not allowed to eat in the school cafeteria, think extremely hot weather or cold weather. In fact the children are segregated from the LAUSD children. They are not allowed on the playground equipment, they aren't even allowed to sit on their benches. An optimal charter school has its own campus (for example KIPP) and doesn't stay at an LAUSD campus like an unwanted guest that is overstaying their welcome. Due to their inability to keep students, their enrollment has dropped and there are too many combo classes. This is not an ideal educational setting. As a result, the students do not get complete access their grade level curriculum. Speaking of curriculum, it is not well rounded and never includes science or social studies or art. No science textbook or social studies textbook. Makes you wonder what they are doing with the money. Homework is inconsistent and I never received feedback about my son's progress. The students are not respected and treated like dogs. Upon arrival they are expected to stand perfectly still and wait until the start bell rings with no access to space where they can talk to each other. The noon aides are dressed like they are going to a Raider game and the bark at the kids. My son dreaded coming to this school. The field trips are a joke. A bus trip to another school to attend a book fair? What a waste of instructional time.You are better off scrimping every dime to move into a better neighborhood or enroll at a parochial school. I chose a parochial school because housing is so expensive. Best decision my wife and I ever made. Then came the pandemic. We decided to leave our beloved parochial school and we hesitated but enrolled our son at the LAUSD campus instead. The teacher was amazing and she was so professional and kept my son engaged, Ms. Felix, you are amazing and dedicated. Because of you my son is thriving. The district "home" office is difficult to deal with and not parent friendly at all. PROS: -Uniforms-cafeteria provides organic food, (albeit frozen and processed) We didn't try Kipp because I had enough of one charter school and enrolling my son in another was not an option.

I am very happy with the quality of education my child has received and I love all the teachers my child has had.
