Hi, I am a student at Durling Middle School. I am writing this review because some of the staff are strict and their lunches are horrible because last year, I found a dust bunny in my lunch and also, don't rely on the school cop to protect your kids because he does nothing but flirt with the staff. And the bathrooms are nasty

The principals need to be immediately fired. They are extremely rude, unprofessional, have lost total control of thier students and the list goes on. You can have a degree and still be be unfit for the position. The office staff can't be bothered and let you know when they are slightly inconvenienced. There is absolutely no communication at that school be it internally or externally. Teachers can't teach due to students bad behaviors and most rather have thier computers do the teaching instead of them. The schools environment is an absolute joke. Kids do not feel safe there due to the multiple fights a day, constant threats and weapons. Lockers are a joke. It's extremely crowded and outdated. The curriculum is terrible. Fights in and out of the school and the chaos follows up the road to the local businesses. Pick and drop off is a nightmare. Traffic is worse then rush hour. Disciplinary actions depend on the student and not the action creating consistent repeat offenders who eventually don't even get in trouble at all for whatever it is they do and need to expelled. Kids vaping in bathrooms, band, school grounds and up the road. So much bullying and no one cares. The cop is a waste of money much rather talk and flirt with staff. Bus drivers are reckless. Cameras every where yet can't ever be checked. Food is absolutely disgusting. I can go on and on about how terrible this school is. Can't complain to the superintendent because he doesn't seem to be doing anything when students and parents do. Its either he doesnt care, hes blind to it all or cant be bothered with it. Can't go to the board because he selected those who agree with him and parents are afraid to out of fear of thier children being treated differently which they will do. Your child will do a total 180 in all the worst ways. Someone needs to go in there and do thier job for once and start from the top and work thier way down firing and replacing all administrators and staff. Something needs to be done before something terrible happens inside or outside of school. Then again, the principals would just try to sweep it under the rug , point fingers, blame parents or lie to protect themselves like they constantly do because why not it's worked for how many years now? Save yourself and your kid the stress, anxiety, depression, sleepless nights, and 4 years of misery and send them somewhere else. I promise you what they do and say is nothing but a mask to hide what truly goes on in that building.

I'm a student here and it absolutely sucks. The teachers are rude, the paperwork is astonishing. The food is usually horrible, the kids are disrespectful. Yadayadayada. Its bad.

Terrible . I do not recommend sending your child to this school. Many of the teachers, not all, do not care about the students. Many teachers don't go the extra mile for students they need extra assistance. Many seem thet are they just for a paycheck. The principal and assistant principal are a joke. They don't even know the majority of the students. There principal, Laura Manning, requested to speak to a parent about their child. The principal began talking to the parent about the wrong student. She wasn't even aware until the parent told her that wasn't their child. The superintendent isn't any better. They don't even update their information on the district website. Stay away from this school and district.

I AM VERY PLEASED WITH DURLING MIDDLE SCHOOL. THEIR TEACHERS ARE VERY CARING AND COMPASSIONATE TOWARDS EACH AND EVERY THE STUDENT.

parent teacher communication is terrible. when the parents are separated it is very hard to feel comfortable with the teachers when it is conference time. The teachers pass verbal judgement very uncomfortable. when asking for counseling services for my child going through a separation i was told they couldn't help us with that.....and as far as discipline it is not given out fairly and justly. I am very unamused that my child has to go to this school. I am doing all I can to get him out of here FAST!!!!!!!!
