This school is crazy, there's a fight everyday. Half of my Pe class is failing because of a teacher. No one cares about your feelings, they let everyone get away with whatever. I feel unsafe as there was litteraly a fight right behind me in my history class.

This school teaches students what they need to know through experienced teacher that are hands-on and give students opportunities they would not have at other schools. I recommend this school to your children.

This school is too large and overcrowded. Multiple physical fights break out weekly, if not daily. My child does not feel safe here. His grades have dropped because it is not conducive to learning. I do not recommend this school.

Principal is excellent. Good at communicating out information. Front office staff is patient. Teachers have been attentive and helpful, really encouraging parents to let the kids come to them to handle any issues. My child had a great year.

For Gen Ed Students the academics are good. If your child can survive the bullying, it would be a good school. In regards to Special Ed, I wouldn't recommend this school. Your child will be stuck 3 years with an indifferent Teacher. My Special Ed son was doing good in elementary school. It seems his education at this school set him back further than he was. Thank God he likes high school.

My first child just finished, and has just started in the PACE program at Poly. She (and we) had an absolute blast there. I always felt welcome, and there is a friendly air there. I used to substitute teach, and I cherished coming here. One draw is the diversity among the staff AND students. Our children are multiethnic, and I really feel like this was a great environment for our daughter to grow and feel supported. I look forward to our next child continuing the tradition!

Teachers are only concern about the students who are academically structured but as far as the student who is struggling the teachers have no concerns, even if the parents are reaching out.

My third child is currently attending Hughes, and although I am not pleased with the environment of the general population, I have been pleased with the overall education my children have received.

Hughes has a fantastic music program. The GATE classes are demanding, yet fun, and most of the teachers communicate well with students and parents alike.

This school is great! Of course, like any other school we have a litter problem. We are fixing it by having a Green Team. This school has fair teachers. I am currently an eighth grader and will be in high school September 2015

I am a student here at hughes currently in seventha grade personalu this school is a very good school for your children to come to kids have many chances for extra credit and many electives to choose from chorus is one of the best since it's very fun and Mr.Clausen is very funny and nice the teachers are very kind with the exception some problems with fights just watch that your child isn't fighting over a guy or a girl or even just to do it its happened very few times to say the least overall this school is an honor to go to and have many clubs to join such as the japanime club or the green team.this school is a green school liter is not excepted and will result in detention if caught .the are many chances for students so i suggest this middle school.-from a student

The staff at Hughes Middle School has been on disappointment after another. Bullying is handled from the teachers all the way up to the principal with lack of communication with the parents and no follow through. When information is finally provided, it is one sided, incomplete, and/or inaccurate. When confronted with all of the facts communication stops from their side and they do nothing. I would rather have my children in a school with good teachers and staff that care and treat the students with dignity, support and as the individuals they are rather than a school that only cares about their image and test scores.

I am sort of mixed about this school. There's some pretty helpful and nice teachers, while some are either lazy or absolutely demanding. Sports are really great here though. There's PE classes, sports teams, and time to play on the blacktop. The selection of electives is really high also. So far, I've had Home Economics, Computers, and Aide duties. My overall statement about Hughes is that it's a great school, very multi-cultural, but it just has way too many students. I've seen a whole lot of misconduct at Hughes that teachers don't even pay attention to. But still, it's the bee's knees, you'll love it.
