I am a current 8th grader at Bancroft Middle School and of my three years here this schools main problem is drugs (vaping in the bathrooms). Overall the teachers and staff are very supportive and their are many resources for homework help and etc. It is mainly the students that are bad at Bancroft. I could go on and on about this school but I will say Bancroft isn't the best Middle school in Lbusd.

Think twice before sending a child to this school. Maybe with a new administration things will change. Notice the decline in reviews over the years. There is a reason for that.

Teachers lie a lot about students and there is a lot of bullying racism and discrimination.

My daughter has been failed in math for 3 years at Bancroft. They just finally got rid of one math teacher and are still failing her. The vice principal who I have talked to to address this problem over the years has done nothing for me and seems to be there to protect lausd and does not care at all about student learning. Do not send your child to this school if you want them to be prepared for high school.

Sadly students’ well-being’s clearly are not a priority. The staff seem to have forgotten that they are legally mandated reporters. Instead of protecting students, they ignore those who need support, protection, ignore signs that should concern them, and do not provide a safe place to be heard. Children/students clearly do not come first.

I had an awful experience as a middle schooler here. I was supposed to go to Hoover. Avoid this school if you want your kid to succeed.

Absolutely horrible. Pulled my child and will not send them back.

This is one of the best schools I have ever worked with. The teachers care about the students and are willing to work outside of their required school day to help them.

This is an amazing school! The teachers, especially Mrs. Njoroge, Mrs. Carr and Mrs. Hun, are great! Some teachers are eh, but for the most part they are great! Bullying is kind of a problem, but as long as you report anything, things will be fine! They have an AMAZING art program (shoutout to Mrs. Carr!) and sports department! Go class of 2016!!

this school is ok, but its not the best. People are nice, but some are very rude. My best friends gets prank calls from some of the girls there, going on about there flaws. The teachers are nice but there are a lot of cliques, and I really don't like it. Look out for some of the 8th graders but other than that its my favorite school so far.

Decent school in a pretty nice neighbourhood. I was a student here for 3 years. This school could of done better with the teaching staff. They replaced the good teachers with the bad ones. But there are still a few good ones who know how to connect and teach the students. Making them wanting to learn. Then there are some which the students could care less about their grades. The science teacher doesn't know how to take safety into consideration. A student drops dry ice on his shirt and the teacher walks by not caring. Another teacher is very rude. She's always in a grumpy mood and doesn't know how to use manners. When a student ask a question she would ignore, say "what?", or "huh?" without any proper introduction. Same with the office staff. But the principal, assist. principal, and counciler are very helpful and friendly. The sports program is decent except for girls track and field. Girls track and field are exceptional. Always in the headlines, always winning, and placing 1st in cross country 2 years in a row from 2 grade levels. Our clubs, have poor leadership and teamwork effort. Cubs at Bancroft are just social clubs. The school is average and nice.

Excellent School with top notch and caring teachers and a very approachable and discerning principal. The clubs and activities are broad and the academic nature of the school is respectable. There is an excellent art, music and unmatched computer program as well. The school has excellent emergency preparedness drills. I am very happy with this school beyond all other schools I have been part of.

I recently just graduated from bancroft ms. i am now an 9th grader at LHS. Bancroft was a great school. I loved it. Some teachers were rude, dint care less. Teachers would make you change if you had one little thing wrong with your outfit. This school as very strict clothing guidelines. There is not always fights but sometimes there might be. Principal would yell at students during lunch but overall i loved this school very much and will always have it in my memories forever. CLASS OF 2012 <3

I am very disappointed. My son scored high on the STARS state exam and was placed in AP classes. At Open House, the teachers tell you not to help because they want students to learn to be independent. He struggled but was afraid to ask for help because his English teacher scolded him. He was penalized for every little thing. A patch fell off his knee & he had to change his clothes. He was fined and spent time in detention for forgetting his i.d., misplacing his lock, not getting his planner signed. My son was sick & had to miss days. The school was quick to send out a truancy letter. When my husband went to the school to talk to the English teacher, she appeared shocked & admonished him to use school loop. My husband & I are computer literate but found it to be useless and not user friendly. Teachers hide behind it to avoid parent contact. Worst of all, teachers lied. They told us he would pass his class if he got caught up & did extra credit work. I helped w hw & made sure he did extra cred assignments. I even made 3 20 mile trips searching for grunion to no avail. His science & English teachers failed him anyway. I am sure he did not learn much.
