10 if I could. There is nothing bad that I can say about Anna Merritt. It gets a bad name because it’s considered a low income school but I felt you couldn’t tell they made sure every kid felt or feels welcome. My daughter did nothing but thrive.

The teachers are doing a great job of trying to meet the new core requirements. They are reaching out to the parents for assistance as much as possible. The children are being forced to learn so much more advanced things now and without the parents help it will be even more challenging. Each day my child brings home a folder that I must sign that tells how that day was and if there are any assignments due. Often there are difficult vocabulary words we work must work on so the children can understand the curriculum. They are doing a great job in trying to get the parents involved.

I've heard nothing but horrible things about this school since moving into the community, then found out first hand how horrible it is. The teachers and staff are nothing but a bunch of busy bodies in parents personal business and not enough time on the children's educational needs. They are more interested in having an easy days work then they are in educating the children. Special Education classroom is the worst I've ever witnessed, Teachers Screaming in disabled children's faces and they spend more time worrying about medicating these children then they do their academics. They are under staffed and ill equipped to handle children with disabilities. They would rather have an easy days work then put forth the effort required to educate these children. The Staff all stick together and defend one another and use the local Child Protective services as a form of harassment to parents with disabled children. Have not even been able to get near my child's classroom, so parent involvement is not encouraged.
