My kids love this school and they are thriving. Our family has been attending Coolidge for 6+ years. The staff has always been great and supportive.

If I could rate this school a 0 I would. My son went to Coolidge for 3 years until he moved on to Riley (thank goodness!). My son has ADHD and the way this school handles children with a 504 Plan or who has a disorder of ANY kind is just inexcusable and ineffective! My son has trouble dealing with his emotions and the teachers would just send him to Mrs. Rand, basically pushing him off on her. Please do NOT get me started on Principal Grezak, he is by far the most uninterested and most disrespectful Principal I have ever met! During my son's monthly 504 meeting with the staff, Principal Grezak did nothing but look at his cellphone, laugh at whatever he was looking at and then left the meeting early altogether without providing any input on what to do with my son while he was in their care! Thankfully my son is at a better school now. If you could send your child somewhere else, do so.

I agree with the other parent on this review. This school is ridiculous. Their anti-bully policy is a joke and the administration is completely untrained to handle social situations. The Livonia Board of Education should take some of the money they put into the building and spend it on training their teachers and administrators how to keep children safe. I would tell anyone DO NOT send your child there. Livonia has school of choice, pick somewhere else.

My son had a nice experience at Coolidge that went downhill every year, with the worst being in 4th grade. The teachers started to not care about the children or parents and the principal did nothing to change anything. The teacher would not use email or website to help us know due dates. Instead, my 9 year old was expected to be fully equipped to recall everything. He did develop this ability to be more organized by May and in the meantime, decided he hates school. He was excelling at reading and math until 4th grade - now he has fallen back. He's lost and he is discouraged. I became discouraged when I picked him up at 3:30pm to find he and his classmates were packed up and waiting for the 3:58p.m. dismissal and the teachers were not in their rooms but yelling "quiet!!" Down the halls. Livonia Public Schools failed my son and we're moving onward to private education.
