If your student wants to achieve strong academic performance and get into top universities, you might want to look at other schools. This school doesn't offer much support for academics, but it does excel in music and other extracurricular activities.

As a current student in the graduating class of the Green Engineering Academy (GEA), I have been with the GEA since freshman year. I have gained an academic edge over my fellow students but also found a deeply connected community. In the GEA we take core curriculum with the same students throughout our 4 years. This helps develop friendships that both serve as a way for feedback on homework/projects and also as a lifelong memory that I will never forget. From teachers with industry experience to class field trips and physics demonstrations, choosing the GEA at Livermore High School has been the best decision I have ever made. I proudly recommend this program to any incoming freshmen who are interested in engineering.

I moved from Oklahoma to Livermore in 1968, and loved attending Livermore High School, memories I'll have forever. JR Little

GEA program is a waste of time. My kid texts home daily letting me know they are sitting around playing computer games or watching videos in one of the classes. This child is trying his best to graduate early and get the heck out. My other child is transferring to the other high school in the city because she is tired of science and math teachers who can’t teach. The other achool also has IB courses and Biotech courses she wants to take.

LHS offers students many choices to pursue their areas of interest; Green Engineering Academy, Video Production, Agriculture Program, Drama/Theater, Band, Show Choir, and Culinary Arts, Medical Assisting, Robotics, Engineering, Programming, Criminal Justice, Automotive Repair, and more. The campus is inclusive with tolerance and acceptance. School spirit is contagious with spirit days, special assemblies, an all-school lip-sync annual video, snow day in Winter, Homecoming floats supporting local charities, class competitions, and many service-based clubs run by students. Parent and Alumni groups are active and thriving working in tandem with the school Principal and VPs to collectively achieve overarching goals at LHS. Rigorous courses are offered in levels of Honors and Advanced Placement. Free tutoring is available to every student. Staff members teach, coach, advise clubs, take students on international trips, and schedule field trips to see "real-world" careers in action. The Athletics programs are developing, hence, the four star rating. With a plan and some focus the potential of our student athletes can be maximized. Our graduates are accepted at colleges like Stanford, UC Berkeley, UC Davis, MIT, Air Force Academy, UCLA to name a few. Opportunities for success are present at LHS and staff members are ready to help students reach their highest bar.

I switched after a year and a half. After the school encouraged me to join a class that was ensured by contract to be confidential, a teacher not only told the whole class, but also my parents about it. When I met with principal Solorzano he explained to me that there was a lot of students there, and it's hard to keep track of everything. This was the last of many things this school did to make me uncomfortable. The next day I put in a request to switch to Vineyard High School and it was was a great decision.

Great school, lots of parent involvement. Academics are challenging. There are many ways for students to be involved in the school; clubs and sports.

This school has the best librarian ever. She helps kids with reports, research and computer work. She is patient but doesn't put up with kids who aren't working on class assignments. She is respected by teachers, parents and students. Let's keep her at LHS.
