There are very few positives about this school, one of which being there are a small amount of teachers who really care about the students. Otherwise, the bullying, whether verbal or physical, is never dealt with. The leadership is so out of touch with the different levels of leaders that most things don't turn out well. Students are mostly treated with contempt with very few exceptions.

The teachers spend way to much time worrying about PDA and dress code then ower academic progress.

This school doesn’t care about the kids. They want to school to have a higher grade. The Staff is more focused on the dress code than our education and wellbeing.

My son is in his Senior year at Suwannee High. While it could definitely use some better teachers, the school has made significant progress academically since being under the current Principal Mr. Roush. He is a leader and he runs the school. He does not let the school run him. My son has never had a problem with being beat! The person who posted that beatings occur at a high rate at Suwannee High is false. If you take honors or AP classes, you are going to most likely have a good teacher. My son had three great English Teachers while at Suwannee High, Amy Hendry, Julie Hocutt and Audrey Marshall. I highly recommend them!

Florida Department of education statistics. civil rights data, and public records information verify that this school and school district has the highest rates of student beatings (corporal punishment) in the entire state of Florida. The incidents happening at this school are truly alarming.

As a student of the school I'm looking for a way to transfer. The school is completely chaotic. The teachers do not care. They don't even try to help. I had a 3.8 GPA until my sophomore year, I got placed and started FAILING. Now I'm making the classes up on FLVS, I got a 4 in my english class at the school. I have a 96 now. This schools a joke!

As a parent of a child with ADHD, this school is ill prepared in dealing with these types of children. My child is on the 504 plan and it has NOT been followed as of yet. He was transferred into the opportunity school and is doing better, but still not great. I found out recently that the teachers at the opportunity school had no idea that my son was on the 504 plan as they were never advised by guidance. This school needs to get their act together and realize that they are there for our children!!!!

i am a newer stident to the 2010-2011 school year i have been miserable since the day i stepped foot on campus there is no want from students to come to school and the teachers are very bland and uncaring. kids are very cruel to each other and fit the high school cliche that is shown in movies i give this school one star for no effort because i was an A student until i was misplaced my Junior year where i now have a 2.7 gpa and dread school days

I only give the school a 2 star rating because I've seen an attempt by the school board this year to improve the school. Here's hoping the new principal will work to create a friendlier, more student centered environment. My child compares the school to a prison--drab and unfriendly. Upper level teachers are fairly good.
