In my experience if your child has a learning disability they will treat your child poorly and then in the middle of the school year kick them out and tell you to take them to a different school. But I am glad they did that because my child is doing way better at the new school. I tell anyone that will listen to not take there child to this school if they have any kind of learning disabilities.

My son got alot of of this school! He loved his Principle Mrs. Touher. Molly Touher makes this school fun and exciting for the kids to go to school! She is involved in all the kids and has fun with them all. Will dress up for Halloween and make that experience much more enjoyable for the kiddos. Its a small school with not alot attending at this school which was nice for my son because he got that one on one attention he needed. My son was so far behind coming from another school that was over ran by kids and not enough teachers. He started to fall way behind. We brought him to Peiffer and he blossomed and caught back up to his grade level.

This school increased enrollment, retained a lot of teachers once again. They should get a 10/10.

Peiffer Elementary embodies the characteristics I would expect from a great school. My students here are treated with dignity and respect, and are allowed to express themselves through classroom learning and enrichment activities. The culture of nurturing the whole child has empowered my children to welcome real life outside the four walls of the school. Their curriculum is fully explained at the beginning of each school year, and is consistently upheld through the year. Teachers, office, and administration are accessible and willing to take extra time to reach out or be available as our family needs. Communication from office staff is supreme - I receive a phone call with messages or an email at least once a week. This adds to our experience and allows us opportunities to be a part of the school. We are a proud Peiffer family and have no intentions of changing this. I would encourage other families to feel as welcomed and involved in Peiffer in the future - our experiences here have impacted our family so greatly!

This school is not run well at all. The teachers are not provided with the instructional materials to help them be effective teachers. I strongly disagree with teaching children reading without using a reading curriculum. Mrs. Touher is unclear about her expectations of the teachers and can be condescending in how she treats them. In my view, the children are not receiving a strong academic education and the school's test scores seem to indicate that as well. I would not recommend Peiffer Elementary.

this school has a really hard time ensuring the safety of their students. all the grown ups within the school also like to play "hot potato" on difficult issues, no one is accountable or responsible for anything. this is the worst elementary school in the district, and the principal is a real hands off piece of work. they are full of prejudice and discrimination, from handicaps, race, allergies, and blended family situations.

A phenomenal school! Mrs. Touher, the principal is an exceptional leader. The teachers are incredible. They all take time to build relationships and challenge each student!

They have a few GREAT teachers. All the good ones retire or leave. It is only leaving a few good ones left. They are very judgmental (school staff and PTA). The PTA is very cliquey and not accepting of new ideas. If you volunteer to help with an activity they only give you days notice of information. The homework load is TOO LITTLE. Kindergarten children get more homework then the other grades. Where is there class reading books? When asked at a parent/teacher conference, I was told that my child could chose his/her own book and read that. How do they know if they are understanding the reading or actually reading words correctly. Book reports? none of those? They use WAY too much technology and not enough teacher instruction. They do not DO WELL with kids that have special needs. It takes them MONTHS or even a YEAR to finally assess students that need services. They want to push kids through (not holding kids back) to make themselves look great and make their numbers look better. KIDS are Struggling!!

The AMP teachers, and classroom teachers continue to make learning fun despite the frustrating pressure on data and numbers. Sadly the recognition events highlighting achievement grades have been removed for the families, and in it's place are time consuming classroom meetings where kids talk about their feelings. Complacency abounds due to the socialistic grading style where every achievement, or lack there of, earns a '3.'

We love Peiffer Elementary School! The teachers and staff are so great and supportive of kids and parents. The school cares about the "whole child" and provides development in character, healthy choices, physical activity, academics, and extra-curricular activities. If you are looking for a great school and community, you should check out Peiffer!

At the start of the school year we chose to leave our beloved charter school due to policy changes we didn't agree with. It was too late to choice in so we begrudgingly tried our neighborhood school. We have been so impressed with the teachers at this school and my kids are so much happier! There is an attitude of respect and teamwork among the staff and teachers, and they work hard to not only teach academics but strong character skills as well. It's a small school tucked away from main streets and a great opportunity to meet more of the wonderful neighbors in our community. We are happy to be part of the Peiffer community!

We love the Character Traits that form a foundation for learning each month. I just love how my Kindergartner can point out when he is acting with "integrity", one of the 6 character traits promoted at Peiffer. Great teachers. Supportive community. Welcoming atmosphere.
