I went through the enrollment process with my child but ended up switching to a different school last minute. The school community wasn't terribly welcoming when we said we were Christian but not Mennonite. We felt very much like outsiders. My child had a negative experience with their pre-enrollment evaluation so we switched to a different school. Parents were mostly friendly but some teachers and staff had a judgemental vibe. Ultimately we are very happy with the other private school we went with.

LAMS has been a wonderful experience for our entire family. The faculty not only care about the academic growth of the students, but about the whole child...their emotional and spiritual development are cared for too!

We've been sending our children to LAMS for many years and highly recommend the full K through 8 program (I've heard great things about the Pre-K program too but can't speak from personal experience). As a parent, it's beautiful to watch your child gain confidence and blossom academically, emotionally, spiritually in the care of great teachers. The small class sizes at LAMS give them more opportunities to tailor things to each child's needs. They have great learning support for students that need extra help and also an enrichment program for students that need an extra challenge. The academic program is very strong and gives the students a firm foundation for high school and beyond. They've even started things like offering Keystone Exam (required for high school graduation) for math to students in 8th grade. Note that although "Mennonite" is in the name of the school, the students come from a wide variety of churches and denominations. The administrator does a great job of pulling the diverse group together as a community and there's a lot of parent involvement in volunteer opportunities and in committees to determine the direction of programs.
