I'm so glad my daughter got to go here and experience three years of fantastic education with a culturally and socio-economically diverse student body where "Everyone Belongs".

We have found Pound Middle School to be nothing less than excellent. The office staff and especially the counselor are very courteous, competent, and work hard in their effort to educate the children and strive to keep them motivated and safe at all times. Of course, there are indeed the unfortunate kids from unmotivated families who have no proper role model to learn from. However, the good students who want to work and excel at this school show that they have full parental support in their endeavor. The teachers and the administrators at any public school have a very difficult time dealing with the many home-related problems that these children bring to school with them. I appreciate the hard work and dedication to excellence that the Pound Middle School teachers and admin staff contribute to the success of our children. My son has learned so much at this school and has truly performed at a much higher level than any previous school that he attended. He loves this school and I appreciate the clean, positive, and secure environment that Pound has given to him. I also thank the hardworking and dedicated teachers and the admin staff for this!

One of the best schools I've been to, I would not be where I am today without my teachers helping me

My oldest daughter attended Pound and had some learning difficulties. The teachers and counselors met with me on a regular basis to go over evaluation results and progress monitoring. She reacted well to the additional assistance. She felt welcome in all of her classes. When walking through the school with her teachers knew her by name and she really enjoyed going to school. There were a lot of additional opportunities after school and some outstanding music opportunities.

As a teacher, I am always amazed at students' comments, especially students who have transferred in from other local schools; positive comments that speak of teachers that care about them, of being welcomed at Pound after having been bullied at their other schools. Pound Middle School is the best kept secret on town.

If your child is in special education and is even "remotely" capable of learning general education curriculum or being in a general education setting....this school is not the school for you. Plan on a fight to the finish....from adequate communication to appropriate and well thought out curriculum.......to continual administrative strife at every turn. Very disappointed. Feel like this school has done nothing but place a glass ceiling in between my child and her potential. We have been extremely satisfied with the LPS Special Education department but this school is a real let down. It remains inconsistent with the standards and high expectations of a quality educational experience that ALL children deserve.
