Unfortunately, there's not a strong academic focus at Irving. There are a few great teachers, but they don't get a lot of support from administration.

I actually went to Irving and I thought it was very poor with the teaching program. I thought that it was a not a place where I was taught to the best of the school's ability. The teachers were great, but the teaching wasn't. They really need to step it up with their learning program. Irving was just a bland school and they didn't have very many clubs and the clubs they did have were boring. They meet the standards when it comes to nice learning environment, but they really just give us kids mediocre learning experiences. They have very limited options and Irving was the best school of all of the middle schools on that side of Lincoln, but they were still very poor when it came to meeting the standards. They do a pretty good job when it comes to the bullying, but other than that they are just not up to par when it comes to above and beyond. They do teach the children good guidelines and lessons but it's in such a way that makes you want to tune it out.
