Both my boys graduated from here. Both went to good colleges beyond high school and with their work ethics, both landed great jobs. I had to chuckle when I saw the “Equity,” portion of the review being so low. In case you people didn’t know, outcomes are never equal. Some people have good parental examples, some don’t, good work ethic, and solid academics are the sellers for this school. They demand Shawnee excellence, and for that, I’m grateful to them. There will never be equal outcomes without penalizing the hard working, ethical, and academically motivated kid, for the sake of “dumbing down,” the curriculum, so others can achieve equal outcomes. The school boards in Va., California, Georgia, should tell us that already. Civil Service testing and other National and State Board exams should show that “dumbing it down,” isn’t the way to make people equal. There’s a huge difference between Equal Opportunity, and equal outcomes. You’d think, being “educators,” School Board, Teachers, and Parents, would all be understanding of this simple concept spelled out in the Constitution and Federal Law. Obviously not. Having said that, the three top categories will go down substantially if this great school system would ever start worrying about “equity,” of outcomes, as opposed to Equal Opportunities for all who go to Shawnee Schools.

This school has great education, but most the people here are closed minded when it comes to most everything. most the teachers are nice i had mostly good experiences beside the "baker" incident ( gym teach tried to get with a freshman). Many teachers give busy work though, which does not make most people motivated to go to class as they come off boring and un-entertaining. There is also a lot drug use, juuls mostly. Many kids here are wild to say the least. If you would let to enroll your kid know that many people are Closed minded which results in many kids being pushed to the side. School tries there best to stop the bullying and what not, but most people still find a way to exclude original people.
