I am a student at this school, and let me tell you - do NOT send your child to this school. The teachers here are disrespectful and hateful, there are many cases of racism, sexism, and homophobia within the school, and teachers will use humiliation tactics against the students (i,,e yelling at students, insulting students, and yelling out loud private information about students.) there is also a large problem with favoritism, teachers here will intentionally fail students that deserve to pass and do their work because they simply do not like them, or in some cases WHOLE classes. If your child has a phone or device, expect it to be taken or confiscated by teachers or hall monitors for no reason, and I mean NO reason, if a teacher even SEES your phone out (on your desk, in your lap, or your pocket.) they will take it from you without giving it back until the end of the day or whenever your parent can get it. Additionally, they are adding a new rule, Yondr bags will be implemented within a few weeks or months, and you/your child will have to put your phone in the bag which will be locked and taken by your teacher for the whole day unless you ask for permission to have/use it. As a student, I need my phone, it's a non-negotiable fact, and I don't mean for entertainment purposes, I take the bus to and from school, and I do not see my mother for the entire day. You can already see what kind of problem this can be right? A few months ago the UNLV shooting took place, and our school went into a hard lockdown, but when we took our phones out to talk to our parents we were urged not to because our cell signals would "interfere with the police radars". I had my phone taken when the lockdown took place because I was texting my mother so she could make sure I was safe and alive.Racism is also a very big thing at this school, teachers will favor white students over Black, Asian, and Hispanic students. white students will get less punishment and most of the time are less likely to be suspended or expelled, white students are the least likely to get in-house or detention despite being a large contributor to violence and substance abuse. Nobody is equal, nobody is good enough, nobody is smart enough, and nobody performs well enough; 40 students last year alone were held back because our principal decided they didn't do good enough for her. Being at this school is making me risk being held back because of something I did not do and can not change.

This school has a meager budget. Most of the teachers don't care about their students, they curse, they yell, and sometimes they write students up for no reason. The students at this school are also disrespectful, they bully, and cuss each other out. In my experience, Students just don't care. Last year this girl thought I was talking about her, though I wasn't. So then the next day she caught me by surprise and beat me up, she kept hitting my head and pulling my hair, and my head hurt for days. I didn't want to go back to school for the rest of the week, but I had the courage. I know students were talking about me, and I didn't care, because I was worried about me, not the school or the students. My parents hate this school but had no choice but to send me here. This was the closest school to where I live, all of the other schools were too far away from here and my family didn't have a car and they didn't want me to ride a school bus because there have been a lot of accidents on school buses. My parents just want me to be and feel safe. If my parents are at school with me right now then they would be writing a review too. I just wanted to write a review because I believe it is right to be honest about this school, Most of the students either hate it here or don't feel safe here.

I would rate my experience at this school a 9.5/10. I think that this is an amazing school and kids should be here because the teachers care. Kids and preteens learn respect, responsible, leadership, and a patience they would need in the real world.

Needs to be more restricted on students more class work but less homework..more test exams and needs accelerated in math and reading. Sometimes kids failed because parents failed or its just the school itself thats not teaching enough.

You might find newer and more eye-appealing schools in Las Vegas but you will NEVER find a middle school with more dedicated teachers and an administrative staff that really carts about the kids who attend here. The principal is a whirlwind who seems like he is never goes home. A great person to have for everyone to look up to. I am so glad that my daughter had the chance to go to Orr and interact with lots of different kids. PS: The parents really care also. The attendance at after-school events is fantastic.

I think this school is horribal!Im a 6th grader and I saw a bed bug in 3 of the class rooms! So many people go home every day cause of lice and they are always sick! The kids here are very jugmental and there are a lot of bullies! Teachers barliey teach you any thing and boys are very gross and they have very bad manners! I would recommend this school to nobody! It is very inapropriate!
