Fourth grades and up needs to learn etiquette values for respecting themselves, teachers and parents. Etiquette is a high value to what is needed for people to live in a better world

My son has been in the waverly school district since he started school, and is currently in Winans. I have been extremely involved in his classes, and tend to touch base with his teachers on a weekly basis when he is in school. Every teacher he has had - has made time to discuss any issues, or concerns I or my child have had. It's felt that they go out of their way to solve any issues, concerns and offer help to the child if needed. The teachers, and principal have always been very friendly and approachable. Even from my son's first day in school, they preached respect, responsibility and integrity. Glad to see the Waverly schools improve far beyond when I went to them.

This school understands the need to develop character in their students and does a great job of creating a family atmosphere for the children. The new principal is dynamic and up-to-date in educational practices. As a result, the school has been growing in leaps and bounds since her arrival. There are a lot of new, exciting programs being implemented at Winans because of this leadership and I look forward to the changes ahead. I also value the nice mix of cultural diversity in the school and the way in which the children embrace those differences. My child is learning to be a good citizen/person, as well as effectively preparing for the demands of college. Thank you, Winans!

Winans is a warm and welcoming school. I see the kids coming and going to school in my neighborhood and they are respectful and fun to watch. Staff seem very supportive.

Chaos. Complete chaos. Students pulling the fire alarm randomly, instructional time is not valued here.
