If your parents were not students at Klondike RUN! I’ve never experienced a more toxic school environment. Expect bullying from not only the kids, but the teachers. No one will do anything to help either. Not even if there is a sexual assault. Their rating is based on test scores only. But they do not have any legit special ed support and will instead just kick out kids who need more support. The staff all went to school there and it shows. They still act like they are in high school. Trust me, you do not want your child to learn character qualities from these people. If you have a choice, any of the other schools in the area are better options.

Klondike is a wonderful school (coming from someone who is enrolled currently)! Not once have I felt that students have been disruptive in a classroom when left "unattended." On that point, children are not left unattended. Teachers have multiple responsibilities (just like every other person on God's green Earth). Some require them to leave (and have another teacher watch the class). Also, our high rating is something we're proud to be recognized by. Everyone's proud of something. So, why can't we be proud of it that? On another note, discipline is enforced WELL. Bullying is NOT tolerated. The teachers are always encouraging of the students and are working as hard as they can to put successful students into the "real world." That's something Klondike is notorious for doing considering kids are ALWAYS prepared for college once they have graduated from Klondike. Lastly, favoritism is everywhere. There's no avoiding it no matter what. It's also not near as bad as people make it out to be. There's a difference between a teacher and student being willing to work together and someone who excludes his/herself and then feels that they are not a favorite. I'm sorry that some people have had bad experiences. Your parents lied to you... your high school years aren't always going to be your "best years."

This school is most likely the worst school I've ever attended in my nearly fifteen years of life. First of all, there is obvious favoritism going on for children who participate in sport's activities and whatnot. Oftentimes, they are undisciplined and allowed to run a muck without any consequences. Also, kids who don't live in the area can easily be thrown out. They don't accept doctor's notes - I was kicked out even when I had many notices from the emergency room telling them I needed to stay home due to my chronic migraines. The entire school is pretty much a huge clique, and if you're not included like I was, you're constantly teased and bullied, which is why my parents actually decided to pull me out of that horrid school. If your child is not heavily involved with sport's activities and you're not rich, don't attend this school and spare your time. I wasted almost five years in that dump and I got no recognition from it. Don't make that mistake.

This school does absolutely nothing about bullying. After confiding in his teacher that he was being picked on, the teacher told him he needed to toughen up. Most definately teachers show favoritism, and in an obvious way. Nearly the whole year is spent teaching to the STAAR test...heaven forbid they lose their high rating. A lot of pressure on the teachers to teach towards the STAAR test. If you have a tough kid, who fits well in cliques, and is an athlete, you'll fit right in at Klondike. Oh, it helps if you can bake several pies, cakes, and buy 20 t-shirts a year to support your school. Go cougars.
