This school is passing kids from one grade to the next. I've talked to many children and parents their kids can't read they can't do math but yet they give him certificates saying what a great job they have done. They aren't teaching them anything they're passing them what I mean is they're passing them by they're learning absolutely nothing. This is one of the worst schools for teaching I've ever seen you got kids 7 8 years old can't do what a 3-year-old can do in a different School. Kids 78 years old can't read can't do any math at all teachers do not give them any attention in fact they forbid it. Take your kids out of that terrible School even if it cost you money to pay to get them in a good school do it. That school should have been closed down many many years ago.

HORRIBLE RUN PARENTS RUN! WORST SCHOOL ON THE PLANET EARTH! I wish I could give this school a Zero. Not only is this a ran down inadequate teaching school. The teachers and also the principles have no sense of managing children. My children only went to A schools and have never had any problems. Once they started this failing school, there have been nothing but PROBLEMS!!! my children has only been to this school for a little over a MONTH an have been suspended over 9 times or more. With only a few days remaining until summer. My children have NEVER been suspended EVER in life until entering this poorly ran school. even if a child sneezes they are written up. the teachers cant control their classes, they also all look and talk under educated. WORST school EVERRRRRRR! classic no good public Polk county school. ~Whats going on PAT BARNES???

This is my daughter's first year at this school and a boy balled up her brand new screen protector after I had just bought it. The principal promised to reimburse me but NEVER did.

For many, many years, I have experienced pleasant experiences with this wonderful school. Society as a whole, often looks at only the transparent components of a school. It fails to take into consideration the over all make-up of individual schools, or uncontrollable redistricting/zoning. These factors can have a tremendous effect or result in a schools ratings.

I have enjoyed being part of the Philip O'Brien family for the past three years. The children and faculty have great relationships with one another especially the Pre K.

My daughter started Phillip O'brien in January of 2014, and we had a great 2nd half of the school year. This is a great community-focused school with A+ faculty and an A+ administration team. Her teacher was wonderful -- very welcoming and helped to make sure my daughter was on track. I could not of asked for a better experience.

Phillip O'Brien is an awesome school. My daughter has been there since 2011 for kindergarten and now 1st grade. Her teachers' are the best. The principal and assistant principal strive to make sure the children are in a safe, loving, and enriching environment.

My 2 boys have been at Lime Street/ Philip O'Brien since the 2006-2007 school year. This has to be one of the BEST schools in Lakeland! The front office staff would have to be the nicest people I have ever met. As for the Principal, In all the years she has been there she has done a wonderful job of taking care of what needs to be taken care of. All the teachers my boys have had at Philip O'Brien, with the exception of my oldest sons 2nd grade teacher, are the most caring group of teachers I have ever come across. The only thing my youngest son had was the cleanliness of the bathrooms.

I have two children at this school. I have been very pleased with the work of my children's teachers. They encourage my children to do their best and give me plenty of opportunities to be involved in the different school activities. The principal and the office staff are helpful and promptly address any concerns you may have. Overall, they do their best with the resources they have and parents/guardian involvement is highly encouraged.

Philip O'Brien Elementary is definitely an A school in more than one way. The principal and assistant principal are extraordinary, the teachers are wonderful, and the rest of the staff members are always friendly and helpful. Everyone works hard to create a positive learning environment for the students, and it shows.
