We moved here from another state and the start of my kids first year was a joke. Very frustrating, and overall poorly ran. The teacher is never there per my child and bonuses into other classrooms. She has terrible communication as does the principal. My child’s safety was an issue with the bus routes or busses failing to show up and the school/district didn’t have answers or care to the issue. Still doesn’t. I’m pulling him from this school. Students don’t deserve to deal with teachers not being there, staff poorly communicating and actually trying to make a change. They are great at shifting the blame game. And great at blowing off your issues.

My child attends Mt. View Elementary. It is only the second quarter and I am almost at my breaking point with the principles methods of handling student bullying, parent concerns, and her intolerable ways of flipping the blame from bullies to the children whom are just trying to survive and learn at Mt. View Elementary from day to day. My child was so excited to be there at first, he loves his teacher. But when he was hit , pushed and punched in the eye, I was hurt. It became obvious that the teacher was beyond stretched due to an over crowded classroom. So I reached out to the principle for help. She turned the blame on my child as if the child who was receiving all the complaints about abuse towards lots of other children had done nothing wrong. My recommendation for parents with children attending Mt. View Elementary, is to keep records of all conversations with the main principle. Her promises to help with violent situations are unreliable. She lies about her intentions to help, she flips the blame on the victims of violence, and if you have to talk with her in person she acts as if she never said she would help you in the first place. She really tests parents abilities to remain focused on the issue at hand considering how the principles conversation begins to flip the blame on the victim. She is also an equivocator. Be wary about your battles with her, be diligent about keeping records and proof of conversations, and above all stay very involved in your child's education to be sure they don't slip behind in adequacy!!!

I have pulled my son out of this school, had a horrible experience at a private school. Comparing it to the private school he was at, I can tell that mt. View has been much better for him in terms of respect and diversity.

Had some good teachers but overall average to poor experience. So happy to be leaving that Principal behind! She is the reason why this school is failing!

I have had 2 children go through this school and it is definitely a neighborhood school meaning that we see teachers everywhere within our neighborhood. They love the kids and it shows! Academics are a priority, but parental involvement is absolutely necessary to ensure that your child is getting the education they need. I have special needs kids (one gifted and the other gifted and on the autism spectrum). One of my kids had a full year of a teacher being absent or out and they lost a lot of time, but in the next grade the teaching was stellar. In middle school now, she is top of her class! The principal is reachable and very approachable. I am looking forward to my littlest one attending this school in the fall!

Boy, this school must have really changed from when I used to go there 1983-84. When I went there I remember nothing but bad teachers and being beat up once or twice per week by some mean kids!
