The principal at this school is super attentive. We get weekly phone calls with updates on what's happening at school. They do a lot of fundraisers which can get annoying but other than that I really don't have much to complain about. Currently I have two students attending and both children are very happy, doing very well with all subjects, and have not ever complained about being unhappy at school. We were a bit dissatisfied with one teacher, but they have since retired so that's a non-issue for future students. I would definitely recommend this school.

I Absolutely Love Ritta! The Staff are always welcoming, engaging, and extremely helpful. Administrators communicate and inspire both parents and students. The Principals know every single child by name and engage with them on both an Academic and Personal level. They are working to instill our children with Integrity, Compassion, Commitment, Honesty, Strong Work Ethic, Understanding, and Kindness. They strive to give students a love of learning as well as a safe place to discover their own unique abilities. Teachers at Ritta are so Passionate about what they do. The Teachers my son has had so far have been Absolutely Amazing. They have taken the time, effort, and commitment to help bring him out of his shell. The amount of Love they pour into their classrooms is inspiring. My son wants to go to school every single day, with hardly ever a complaint, because he has found Joy in Learning. I credit that to his Teachers. Ritta Elementary is Truly an Amazing School. I could not and would not Ever dream of taking my son away from this school.

This school is terrible. I could not wait until my daughter went to middle school. True story, a kid punched another kid in the face and wasn't punished at all. They just sent him back to class. This place is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

This school is only here to just get by. They fail greatly in supporting youth. It seems like they have too many other distractions keeping them from properly engaging with students.

We moved and are now zoned for this school. I thought that moving to a smaller school would be better for my kids but I was so wrong. My kids are miserable. My daughter is bullied on a daily basis. My kids come home saying that the other children are using foul language and the teachers do nothing to fix it. I am so glad my daughter only has a few more months left but sadly my boys have years left. I am beyond disappointed.

We had several issues while my son attended school here. We have since switched schools and have had a much better experience. I think the teachers and Principal are lacking and need to keep a closer eye on the children.

This school and it's staff is why so many decide to homeschool or go private.

This school is terrible now. As a parent, I have been here through several children. The administration right now(2018) is ineffective at best. Some of the students behavior is terrible and the good children have to sit in class with these other kids. Just a very negative vibe coming from this school now. It hasn't always been this way. Most of the good teachers have jumped ship and are now at other schools.

Administration is not experienced. Fairly young principal, on the side of the parents and does not support the staff. Little to no support for hard to staff areas, such as special education. Assistant Principal should be in the principal's role. My advice would be not to take a position at this school unless you are from the south, willing to keep quiet about inequalities, and are a follower.

We moved this past summer and enrolled our children in Ritta. The front office staff treated us kindly and helped us with registration. We soon learned, however, that the school is overly regimented. Many teachers spend more of their time disciplining than teaching. Our children have been disciplined for insignificant things. On following up in those instances, the teachers replies were along the lines of, "Oh, there must have been a misunderstanding." Not all of the teachers are like this. We have been pleased with two new teachers, but fear that in time they will succumb to the hostile atmosphere. The school uses 5th graders as "safeties" to help out during car pool. The safeties abuse their power, inventing rules as they go, and tormenting the younger children with no apparent response from the staff. A portion of the students come from homes where morals are not emphasized. Our 3rd grader has been regularly exposed to foul language and graphic discussions. The teacher has attempted to correct the deviant behavior, but without reinforcement from their homes, the children do not change. We will not be taking our children back to Ritta next year.

My daughter is starting second grade this year and has been in RITTA since kindergarten. We have nothing but positive feedback about this school. The teachers are enthusiastic and caring, the leadership is strong and the PTO is very active. We are looking forward to another school year:-)

I agree with the post below. There are some good teachers but many teachers are burned out. There is a high turnover rate, as many of the best teachers are leaving for other teaching opportunities.

This is a good school, if you happen to get a teacher that is not burned out. A friend of mine had one at Ritta last year and I have one this year. Please, teachers if you are not enthusiastic about teaching anymore and are going to chose to be lazy, leave please. Do the parents a favor! Also, other schools in Knox County seem to have more fun activities for the classes than Ritta does. Some of us parents still don't understand this.
