The school and principal is much better now since they have implanted a new principal in the last couple years! The teachers and staff are really friendly! Best elementary in the Klamath Basin

I attended Shasta from K-6. Everything about that school was extremely satisfactory. I made friendships when I was 5 that are still strong today and I am currently a sophomore at Portland State University. I have many teachers to thank. I maintained good relationships with the staff over the years, and when I went back for a random visit, every single member remembered me. Even after I had moved on to high school one of my favorite teachers would write me letters and send books to read. I adore reading and writing, and I feel as though my fondness for both can be attributed to this school. Perhaps things have changed in recent years, as many schools tend to over time. But I had a wonderful time and I look back at my elementary days as a happy time. I even disregard the occasions I found myself in trouble.

This school is extremely overcrowded. My son attended the 1st grade at this school and I found it to be a complete waste of time. He learned nothing and ever since has not even wanted to try to read. He said that his teacher wouldnt help when he raised his hand and therefore he would not get his work done. When confronted she said that there was too many kids in her class to spend too much time with one student. Every night my son was sent home with almost ALL of the work he was supposed to do in class on top of the regular homework. Sending my son to this school only made him learn to dislike school and despise reading (which he once loved). I wish I could take back the year he attended.
