I just found out that Sunrise Elementary School is going to open an EBD unit I hope and pray to God that it's not true my son was in that school and his academic level was literally much lower than when I entered, I had to literally push thousands of letters so that certain people did their job, although not everyone is negligent, you have people who work there only because they must comply with your schedule to receive a payment, the interest for the student and their needs is very much for their priorities. Although they are not all, unfortunately they have very little empathy and concern for the students. My son has improved a lot at the school where he was assigned if he returns to this school it would be a setback for him. PLEASE!!! train the staff if you are going to open an EBD remember that you have the future and education in your hands in my personal experience compared to the new school where you are you have a lot to learn and above all people to train there are no words to describe my son's progress and the peace of mind I feel where he is. My son has made a lot of progress they were right when they transferred him to his current school they DO have everything my son needs.

More than anything else this school has high security for children, the 5 star is just for that, schooling starts from home so I have no complain against any teacher at this school, from what I am observing teachers are doing their part and as a parent I have to do mine as well, a major complain I have about this school goes not to the school but the school board or school district, maintenance personnel had the whole summer brake time to make sure everything is working as they should, however 12 days after the school year officially started at least the 5th grade kids are burning in the central Florida 100+degree heat in their class, Is this acceptable to the school board members if they had a child in this classroom? If this issue will not resolved by end of this week I will make sure local News channel pays them a visit. Inefficiently insulated old building like this turns in to a bakery during the day time sun, that heat have nowhere to go to at night, if any other parent is not paying attention to this matter then we are the ones to blame for it as well.

The teachers are not kind. Students with learning disabilities are left to fall behind. The staff would rather worry about making parents new to Florida feel terrible for not being familiar with the pick up line than educating students. The amount of times my child has come home crying from being bullied is ridiculous. They do nothing to address it and say the other kids are “joking”. We’re changing schools next year.

Sunrise Elementary has been a blessing to both my husband and I. I typically don't like writing reviews but because of how wonderful this school has been for my son , I had to make an exception. My son has autism and I must say he really has improved ever since starting school at Sunrise. He is currently in Pre-k and he is doing excellent. Though he is in a self contained class, his teachers are great!! They are very patient, encouraging and willing to work hand in hand with me. The saying that " it takes a village to raise a child" is very true. My husband and I and the teachers and therapists at the school all work together to help my son. I had tried other private schools like motes sortie at celebration and everyday I would cry because the teacher would complain about my son all the time. She wanted me to get him a "shadow" and wasn't willing to spend the time with him to help him. With Sunrise it was a complete difference. My son is happy to go to school everyday is improving so much. He has improved in his communication skills, his academics and his interaction. In summary, this school and my son's teacher (Ms Biggers) has really changed my life. I am a very happy mum!!!

A wonderful school with a great Administration and Teachers. It is a very organized school and rewards children for behavior, grades and attendance. The Stretch for Excellence (or Gumby) program is a great way to get the kids motivated to achieve more. My children are very happy at this school.

Sunrise Elementary is a unique school, because throughout the years it demonstrate that, change can be done, with hard work and dedication, that's why it is now a Grade ' A ' school, and going much further.
