If you have a child with dyslexia or a child who needs extra support learning, stay far away from this school. Teachers are good in the younger graders but 4th and especially 5th grade teachers are horrible. Reconsider the scoring of this school, because it is probably coming from parents hiring after school tutors, it’s not coming from the school.

Wonderful hidden gem of Kingwood. My daughter excelled at this school. Wonderful teachers and staff that know the kids by name. Daughter is now doing extremely well after attending Shadow Forest for a foundation, Riverwood for a solid learning experience and now is excelling at KHS and ranked in the top 10. Would highly recommend.

This is a great school. My son attends SFE and loves it. We moved here a few years ago from another state and the one thing I wish was offered at SFE that isn’t is before care or after care. We have no bus service even though we are entirely too far to walk or ride bikes at this age and the school doesn’t offer an early drop off or late pick up option. Your only option is through third party options (YMCA or local daycares). This would make a world of difference! Other than that the school is absolutely great.

Kindergarten and first grade teachers were fantastic. 4th and 5th grade teachers were awful. The older teachers were lazy, one math teacher actually screamed at her class regularly. At no point did I feel like there was help for my child- who was at times bullied and at others flat out ignored when help was asked for. Teachers are extremely clique-ish. If you dare use the ‘bully’ word, the administrative wagons circle and you can kiss any objective help for your child goodbye. Not what I expected based on previous reviews. I wish I had removed my child before 3rd grade.

Generally good kids. Generally poor teachers, with some great ones. Great extracurricular activities. Great library. Work is too redundant. For so much redundancy, the homework is too much as well. Teachers that are poor are poor because they are young and do not have a lot of experience handling the pressures. Pressure pours on thick starting January when testing is around the corner. This year was the first year one of my kid's teachers is yelling and speaking in condescending ways to the whole class, often the entire class time. The bad teachers do not think cliques are bad, and they enable it the way they conduct activities. Favoritism is also something they enable. Outside recess area is a renovation disaster due to problems managing contractors.

I like the school, but whoever the woman is who works the front window has a terrible attitude! She is quite rude. She hardly listens to anything being said to her. It's obvious by her respond. My husband and I both have had several bad experiences with her on different occasions. Below is an example of one:This past Monday when my kindergartener had a field trip, there was 2 teachers and one student who popped out the front door facing the parking lot at the last few minutes to load the bus before the 2 buses already loaded with teachers and students left. There was a line of cars parked behind the buses of parents following....Suddenly a single student came out of the doors behind the teachers. However, he was not apart of the field trip. He was a 1st grader. After the door closed, the single student was locked out of the building. He began to look around and then cry. No one noticed. I quickly ran out of my car and began knocking on the bus door to ask where did this child belong. Instead of taking him inside, the teachers in the bus just responded that he was suppose to be in the building. Without hesitation, I took him inside only to be told by the unhappy old woman at the front window that "he knew where he was suppose to be. " Obviously, this poor little 1st grader got a little confused which we all do at times. The reaction of the teachers on the bus as well as the unhappy woman who works the front window is not what I expect to see of people who work at a school setting. It was sad and cold.

The school, from the staff, involved parents, and the students all exemplify excellence. We moved our two boys to Kingwood to be surrounded by a culture that believes it takes a village to raise children to be the best they can be. My boys love the good friends they have made and is very active with extracurricular activities.

I really love this school and my girls love it too. They really take the time e to make sure each student does their best to learn and strive in their grades
