KFES is welcoming, safe and has a wonderful caring staff. The district emphasizes character as well as learning. This is a fantastic school!!

i have two daughters in school here and I believe wholeheartedly in the schools philosophy of education. The staff is friendly and easy to work with and my daughters have both always felt safe and cared for here. One of my daughters is struggling with reading and they have quickly identified her struggles and are providing opportunities to get her up to speed with her classmates before moving on to another year of school. I can't wait for my other kids to attend this school.

This is a pretty good small town school. Teachers welcome parent involvement and obviously put in extra time to their teaching. Kids generally loop with the same classmates for 2 years with same teacher, which is interesting to build solid young friendships and allow a teacher to know her students strengths and weaknesses. Odd situation where Weds is an hour later start for school which puts a strain on parents' work schedules. Everyone from bus drivers to crossing guards to janitor to gym teacher are friendly, helpful and seem genuinely concerned for student well-being. Principal appears rather insincere and image-conscious, though. A lot is done through the school for the community and a lot of focus is on kids enjoyment of learning. Kids have a few extracurricular sport choices that also have solid leaders among the volunteers. There is a phenomenal math teacher for Math is Cool. There is absolutely no music program in K-12, so if you want music, don't choose this school.
