My child has been pushed academically to excel in college level courses as well as stretch courses in welding and art. Kelso High School has also allowed him to grow socially and athletically through clubs and sports. They have pushed him to be a better person, athlete, and team member.

No matter what you call for you are transfered to a voicemail. The counseling center fails to fulfill their responsibilities. My student doesn't even know what the career center is and this is my second child who is graduating HS and didn't know about the career center. I'm pretty they have full time staff too. Not sure what they get paid to do. The person responsible for the scholarships application process also fails to do their job and was the exact opposite of helpful. I went in there knowing what scholarship I wanted my daughter to apply for and explained that we had missed the deadline the year before, and following her instructions my child once again missed the deadline because she failed to tell us we had to pre register before the date applications started being accepted. And when I went and expressed my displeasure she didn't offer info on other scholarships and she didn't really care that she had given us the wrong info to begin with.

This school is littered with Nazi graffiti, and a staff that will absolutely put in writing that their hands are tied when it comes to bullying, threats of sexual assault, and actual physical assault.

When we discovered our new home was in the KSD we almost backed out. Now we are so glad we did not. All our daughters were immersed in anything they wished at Kelso HS: sports, drama, symphony orchestra, AP courses, and Running Start. Their AP testing garnered them college credits for general studies courses. Kelso HS is a 4A school with exciting sports schedules. When they attended KHS there were teachers who were "not to be missed" due to their positive influence on students. Traditions are evident at sports and graduation events. My observation is that people can excel or coast at any high school. As a parent, I was impressed how students would say "hello" when we came to the school, and offer help to find our destinations. Kelso HS has a positive vibe.

My daughter went here 2yrs was involved in sports and carried great grades nothing lower than a B. The staff within the counseling office are not helpful or friendly at all I know from experience myself. The overall experience with this highschool has been terrible from communication, to solving conflict and safety. I do not recommend this school.
