My son comes home everyday complaining about the gender equality at school saying the girls are treated better a example of this was once the girls we talking at the cafeteria at the end of lunch when they weren’t supposed to but the boys got in trouble instead I do not recommend this school if u enjoy ur child having rights.

Administration does a poor job with student discipline and lacks follow through. A majority of discipline is placed on the teachers wherewith there are some instances that need to be handled outside of the classroom. Many students lack respect and discipline. The teachers look worn down, overwhelmed and overworked. This campus has a high teacher turnover and is currently monitored by TEA for poor performance. The principle, Ms. Hubble should consider retirement.

My grandson attended MRE his entire elementary experience. He will be attending Junior High next year and his family recently moved into a different zone as they upsized their home. My husband and I were very involved during our grandson's education at MRE, chaperoning on field trips, volunteering at the school, attending social functions and open houses. We were always extremely impressed by the level of professionalism from the staff, teachers and administrators. My grandson is very well educated and prepared to attend Junior High, thanks to his experience at MRE. He has high marks and will be in advanced placement again next year. It's a shame that the greatschool rating is so low for this school, as it truly is a very good school in all respects.

Today was my final day at mre and I got a few things to say.Homework was weirdly worded and most of the time had nothing to do what we are learning in class. Not all the teachers were bad but a huge majority was.A good example was my second grade teacher it was kinda like it was her job to make my life miserable. She gave me way more pressure than other students and she graded my work unfairly. So another teacher was my kinder speech teacher.I didn't need speech at all since I had good English, but they still put me in speech. She would get mad at me for the tiniest things like lmnop to fast and because I wrote with my left hand.So every day after came back to class I would be bawling out my eyes and keep in mind this was happening for half a year HALF A YEAR.Now let's talk about this school's bullying approach. My second grade teacher let kids TORMENT me the whole year and she did not do anything at all.In first grade me and my brother had to go to the front office because the teachers would do nothing about me getting bullied. Also why can you do get in more trouble for speed walking than disrupting class.

Very disappointed by my experience at this school. I do not even know where to begin. This school puts Katy ISD to shame. Teachers play favorites and are not discreet about it. They do not address the bullying that occurs right in front of their eyes. There have been multiple occurrences where students were rewarded more for the non-academic achievements rather than the students who actually did well in their academics. Please DO NOT send your child here if you want them to prosper in school. To add on, the discreet racism is absolutely disgusting.

The teachers clearly are not trained to determine if the children may have deficit areas that may require further investigation. For instance, a school psychologist may be referred if a child is underachieving in relation to his/her peers. The teachers do not appear to have education in making accommodations/modifications for children who are not performing as well as their peers or reference groups. I am also unsure why the curriculum consists of materials that I did when I was in 6th grade. With an IQ of over 136, I have found that most of the concepts learned are not required. Kids are overloaded with information and don't have the cognitive endurance to endure the academic rigor that is expected in the 1st grade educational level. It is almost disturbing that a Dr student can go to school with a few pens, a notebook, course book and ambition, meanwhile, these students in the 1st grade have a mile long list to bring to school. The materials certainly are not making them any smarter!!!

I have never been more disappointed in a staff of teachers and administrators since we started in KISD in kindergarten. No one responds to questions, my concerns are brushed aside, and getting updates on my child's progress has been like pulling teeth. We can't sell our home fast enough and move into a different area of Katy so my property taxes are actually paying for an education instead of babysitting services. I would not recommend this school to anyone looking for a home in the area.

My kids went to this school for 2 years. It was an excellent school. Not sure why great school rating is low. But i moved my kids from a katy isd 10 rating school to this school. It has great diverse environment. My kids loved it. I had to move due to my job. My kids went for 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades. If you are looking for a very reasonable living and good school. This is a great option. You can easily find a house in 1100 to 1500 range that is much better than finding a 10 rating school and pay close to 2000 or more in living. Yes my kids passed all star tests and were always above 80% in grades.

Great school! It seems like they are always hosting events for the kids (and families) like the Halloween party and the upcoming glow run. The principal is very involved and truly cares about the kids. The same goes for the teachers. They are all so nice and friendly.

I'm a parent of a former student who was bullied at MRE. I am not alone. It happened. I had to pull him out because when I complained nothing was done. I had to take my complaint outside of the school before anything was done. The teachers involved were required to attend sensitivity training because of this which I believe they refused. I'm speaking out about what happened to make parents aware this can happen to their child too. I dont care about the the schools rep. I DONT WANT ANOTHER CHILD TO SUFFER WHAT MY SON SUFFERED. Reading a teacher denying that this happened shows how upset the faculty is about how the school is viewed. I spoke out because no one helped my son there and i wanted to make parents aware. Bullying is a big problem today. How can the kids get help when this happens if the teachers don't believe they're being bullied. Is this what happened to my son?

I have been a teacher at MRE since day one. Since I have been at MRE, what I have found is an extraordinary number of fine teachers who really care about kids. MRE is a school that teaches via the Writer's Workshops and Reader's workshop methods. It starts kids in Kinder doing real writing daily, and this remarkable practice continues up through the grades. The science curriculum is entirely hands on and is taught at all grade levels. Kids at MRE DO the experiments, then talk about them and write about them. Kids at MRE are getting the finest science curriculum in KISD. I would invite any and all new parents to come visit our school, tour our school, visit a classroom of a grade level where your child might be in, and judge MRE using your five senses and your own common sense. This is a great school, plain and simple. It does not, nor has it ever tolerated bullying of any kind.

My granddaughter attends Norton Ranch Elem. She loves the school, loves her teachers and is excited to get up and go every day of the week. We have been very pleased and delighted with the school. The teachers have all gone out of their way to assure the success of my granddaughter and we are so very thankful. We hope to be able to keep her in Morton Ranch for all of her elem school years.

Our family recently moved to this area from Arizona. I was VERY nervous about moving my kids to this school based on the ratings, but found the best house in our budget range near this school. My kindergarten son LOVES his teacher! He is doing better at this school than he was at his top rated school in Arizona. The program offerings include music, art, physical education, science labs, and computer labs. They offer students and teacher the best technology available for public schools. Our oldest son is attending the High School and has been very happ as well! We are so pleased. Teachers are responsive, and very caring.

I do not like this school.. I really regret having my daughter here. The staff is extremely unprofessional and I agree with the previous parent- after several communication attempts they continue to disbelieve you. Our family is disgusted!!

The teachers are great. There is a new principal this year. So far this new school year I feel the school is encouraging the PTA and do have parent volunteers. My children have no complaints and they love their teachers. The school is becoming more diverse as new subdivisions have starting building up again. The school staff is friendly and helpful.
