My experience with the school, teachers, and administrators have all been GREAT! They all have the students best interests as their top priority. The ag/FFA program is excellent. FCS is back and thriving. Math teachers really care about student learning. The previous review that states the science lab was torn down to make a weight room is not true. The football weight room is outside under the stadium bleachers. Go Wildcats!

After a family member attended this school, we will be sending our children to another school in the area. The football team gets all the funding and the educational facilities are left behind. The chemistry labs were torn down so a weight room could be build for the football team.

South Summit offers no drama classes. They have a very nice theater and even a "Drama Room" but neither are used to teach drama. Any students that want to learn drama must meet after school but are restricted to less than two hours and not every day (There are no such restrictions on the sports programs). Students participating in the theater group are frequently mocked by other students, their costumes and sets are not able to be locked up during the school day and are often scattered and ruined. By not teaching theater they are missing out on a way for students to learn to work together with others to combine their expertise in several disciplines into one united project. For example, theater teaches physics, geometry, algebra, shop, painting, writing, history, drafting, reading, speech, choir, electrical, computers, band, graphic design, social studies, dance, multi-media, lighting, costume design, project management, and English just to name a few. It also teaches collaboration, discipline, and confidence.
