I have six children in Saint X from 1st to 11th grade and it has been a great place for them. Many of the teachers are devout Catholics and all of the teachers are good honest people with the children's best interests at heart. The class sizes are small which has allowed the faculty to give personal attention to our children, one of which has ADHD and struggled in public school. The small student body goes a long way to prevent cliques from forming and our children have endured less bullying than at previous schools. They work to keep tuition low and allow for large families like mine to educate our children in our faith without breaking the budget.

This is a great Catholic school where kids and families of soldiers are especially welcomed and integrated into the Church community. All three of our sons went here and they were admitted to Creighton U., KU and Emporia State after graduation. Their reading, writing and math skills were developed well with high ACT scores as a result

St. Francis Xavier Catholic School is not perfect. No school is perfect. St. Xavier's is a safe learning environment and students have a lot of one-on-one time with their teachers. Every student is is given the chance to excel in academics, extra-curricular activities, and to learn about and pray to God. High school students have the opportunity to participate in many extra-curricular activities. Many of the high school students participate in choir, band, FBLA, sports, Scholar's Bowl, forensics, and in clubs such as art and chess. We attend Mass every Friday and Holy Days of Obligation. We are a small but mighty school. We are the Rams!

St. Xavier has been a great school for my children! I have several in the elementary grades of the school, and they love it! The school certainly is clearly Catholic, but the goal is always to communicate that Catholicism without forcing the kids to be Catholic. But you can see how Catholicism and Academia interact with each other in ways that make sense. It is an accredited school both by the State of Kansas and by its own Diocesan Accrediting organization. The school is definitely small, but that also helps make it a more family experience, as all the students can come together to help each other learn as well as focus on their own grade's subjects. St. Xavier is an environment I appreciate since it remains connected to well-studied science, math, and history, without devolving into the modern social phenomena taking over public schools. There's definitely a difference between adhering to natural concepts and deeply-known truths and being respectful of others, and ultimately peddling unproven unscientific unnatural concepts as if they were consistent with what we know about human beings. Further, St. Xavier makes a point of not hiding information from parents unlike my experience of the local school district. It further incorporates parents into the learning efforts of their students so that the school remains cooperative with parents in the teaching enterprise, and doesn't take it away. While the small school does have many extracurricular activities and sports, it doesn't have all the ones some people prefer. However, students are no longer kept from participating with other district students since Kansas passed legislation allowing students who do not attend district schools to participate in those activities not provided by their own school. So this is an exciting opportunity to do the activities my children love in both places, while receiving a better, safer, more familial, more academically excellent, and more faith-oriented education they'd never get at any public school.

Three of my children attend St. Francis Xavier Catholic School. The school is welcoming, the students are respectful, and the teachers are devoted. Their educational expectations are above average, and their devotion to the Catholic Faith is pervasive.

I have really enjoyed seeing my children flourish at this school. The teachers really care and engage and with students. Classes are small.

St. Xavier has been a wonderful school for our family. My children have been able to attain an excellent faith-based education in a safe and supportive learning environment. The small class sizes allow each child the opportunity to grow academically, spiritually, and personally. The Pre-k through 12 campus is a huge plus for families with children in various grade levels considering the convenience of one drop off/pick up time and similar activities.

Albeit a long time ago St. X was very bad for me and my sisters. Thank god my mother pulled us out and sent us to public school in JC

The school itself is a good environment for kids, however, the 3rd grade teacher is absolutely horrible at teaching. Several of us parents complained that our children have actually lost intelligence with her teaching. The school curriculum is on the same level as public a public school so don't expect your child to be taught a grade level ahead. The school sticks up for the teachers right or wrong.

The school contains excellent, hard working staff. The students are all unique in their own way, but fit perfectly with the staff and family atmosphere. The student are held to high expectations and continue to score well on national and state assessments.

This is our first year at ST X and all three of our children are getting a good education in a positive and Christian environment. I would recommend this school to all our friends. If it weren't for the military moving us again, we would be back at ST X next year!

St X is truly an amazing school! The student to teacher ratio is amazing! I have three children who attend and they love their teachers and the experience! Communication between staff and parents is first rate! I would hands down recommend this school to anyone!

This is my first year with the school. I have been impressed with the staff, the caring of the parents, and the quality of our religion teachers. Most of all, I am very pleased with how I see the students caring for and accepting of each other.

Great school that provides a warm and caring environment for my children. We had debated on moving and stayed in the area because we had found such a great school for the kids.

St. Xavier Catholic School offers a Christ-centered environment where Christian values are taught, modeled, learned and lived. In addition to daily prayer, weekly masses and prayer services, we offer a religious education rooted in Catholic tradition, and challenge students to put their "faith in action" by sharing their time and talents in the community around them. Although I do not have children currently attending St. Xavier, my daughters did attend from preschool through 12th grades. My daughter, who lives in Junction City, plans to send her daughter to St. Xavier when she is old enough for preschool. What a great testimony to a wonderful school!

I am very pleased with our experience at St. Xaviers. My young children are reserved in nature and the small school environment has allowed them to thrive instead of getting lost in the shuffle. As a parent, I feel that my children are receiving and excellent education in a SAFE and supportive environment - not true for all schools in this area. St. Xaviers has qualified teachers and staff that work well together and the school is fully accredited. I realize that the lack of public funding effects some aspects of the school but I do not feel that it hinders my childrens' education in any way. I have also come to know that St. Xavier student have access to some things offered through the public school district -such as thier busing and speech therapy program- at no additional cost. People are often concerned about the cost of attending a private school but I feel that it has been money well spent. My children are not only learning to be good students but good people as well.

If you are looking for a great school in this area, you should start with St. Xavier. The class sizes are small (10-11 students in the High School) so the teachers have more than sufficient time to work with each student. We are very pleased with the curriculum at Saint Xavier. Our son also plays basketball and they have a great program for both boys and girls. And they have a lot of other activities and programs as well. If your child is interested in band, their program is fantastic. Look them up--it'll be worth your while.
