We love Culbertson! Like others have stated, I also wish there were more after school programs for the kids. 25 years ago when I went to Culbertson, we had basketball for the 4th and 5th graders. This is no longer the case but other than that, the staff is friendly and caring! Mr. Tucker is a phenomenal principal as well!

I would like to suggest that Culbertson implements more activities and after school programs for the children. Also it would be nice to have more opportunities for the parents to be involved. Lastly, it would be nice if they could have award assemblies and if the report cards displayed where the student lacks or improved and actually showed the physical grade not just a number.

I been in this school for almost 5 years.I have to say that Mrs.Neal made us read and made us feel safe and comfortable. Now we have a New Principal Mr.Tucker we have a lot of kids that get in trouble but the teachers are the kids hero's and safe the wonderful kids in this school, it has loveful teachers. The homework is very good and you learn a lot everyday but I saw in the other reviews that there classrooms are small that's true but we have a lot is kids in the classrooms because we were taught to fight together and be strong. Also its small school with a lot is kid because parents love this school. It makes the children feel to be able to fit in.

I would definitely say that this school has some great staff. It is crowded, the school and playground are old and need work, and dismissal is organized chaos. Like almost all schools in the district funding is lacking, there aren't many extracurricular options. However the teachers are dedicated, Mrs. Neal is great, and the curriculum is good. There is a reasonable amount of homework assigned, and the kids really enjoy going to school. I have been in kindergarten and first grade classrooms, and always impressed at how much they are able to do with limited resources. The kids are reading by the end of kindergarten or beginning of first grade, which isn't something I can say about some private or more affluent schools. I know lots of people in Ingalls Park try to get their kids into Eisenhower. For a child who is above grade level and/or gifted, Eisenhower is better suited, but for the average to bright student Culbertson is a good school. Actually, frankly, if your child is not able to learn at an accelerated pace and extremely motivated, Eisenhower is probably the worst of the two schools for your child. Many kids like that are basically kicked out.

My sons transferred from a 9 rating school this year. I was very leary coming from a small town into a big city and my boys were too, but I must say the transition into this school has been wonderful. Mrs. Neal, the principal went out of her way and went above and beyond trying to make my children as well as myself feel comfortable. The school isn't very large at all, in fact it has smaller class sizes than the small town we came from. It had a very laid back atmosphere but yet the teachers my sons have a very diligent in teaching their students. My kindergartner has homework everyday and learned how to write his name within the first week! My second grade sons teacher makes school fun and for the first time EVER I don't have to fight my son to read every night. The school seems to be a bit underfunded and needs the community to help but I love that there is so many parents that are trying to make Ingalls Park and T E Culbertson a wonderful place to raise our kids.

this is by far one of the worst Schools I have ever seen. there is chaos at drop off and chaos and pick up. the staff is for the most part freindly if your not there on a bad day. I have seen thing that would make you pull your child out
