it was over all pretty bad. I did bad in elementary school here, teachers were rude and dissrespectful. The only thing it has going for it is that it is somewhat safe.

The good teachers are few and far in between the lazy ones that don't communicate with parents. This school lacks communication, especially since their change in administration. They also write children up for every little thing they do wrong rather than disciplining them on the spot. In their eyes, especially with the principal, it is always the parents fault their child can't sit still long enough in class or keep their mouths closed. They also don't focus on exceling the children or their education very much either. While they have all this time to basically parent-shame all, they don't have enough time to let the children expel their stored energy (no recess, occasionally the students will get to go out, but this is not a daily thing) and only have school for a few hours Friday. While a short school day on Friday sounds appealing, go ahead and ask your child what they did or learn that day - usually it's nothing more than watching a movie. My child used to be an honor roll student with exceptional school behavior and excel in everything he did until we moved to this district. Now, he gets low grades and I get frequent calls from the principal (not really to communicate anything important, but instead to tell me basically that my child sucks and I'm not parenting correctly - no communication from the teachers, you'll be lucky if they return your calls and they will claim they tried to contact you multiple times unsuccessfully when you have no missed calls or emails). Newcomers - beware, especially if your child talks a lot! You will be parent-shamed! The only good thing at this school is the new school facility and the few teachers that really do work with the students.

This school is very clicky .Most teachers are related to the school board or went to this school when they grew-up. If your from the area (East Taylor or Conemaugh), you'll be fine. But if you come from another area YOU WILL BE TREATED VERY BADLY. The Bulling is so bad ,there is more kids being picked up in their parents cars than riding the buses. The local news did a story on the bulling in this school district. It's not any better in the high school. I'm sure that after I post this rating, someone from the area will hurry up and post something good to keep their rating up.The news broadcast doesn't lie.The principal is a product of the school district and it shows.

My daughter loves Conemaugh Valley Elementary School. She really enjoys attending this school. My only problem is that I feel that the teachers lack communication.

Horrible!!!! They allow bullying. They have done nothing about the bullying my daughter has put up with this year. There is a certain girl that bullied another child until the child was home schooled. Now, I think I will have to do the same. Commonwealth Connections Academy here we come!
