I love Heritage Academy! My kids have gone there since 1st and Kindergarten. They are now in 6th and 8th. This school has way less bullying than bigger public schools, and I don’t have to worry about them being influenced by vaping, drugs, gangs. All the teachers have been wonderful throughout the years and the atmosphere is friendly and positive. I also really like the fact that they require uniforms. My only wish was that they had a high school so I wouldn’t have to send my kids anywhere else.

Heritage Academy is in the top 20 Idaho schools for reading growth! : Literacy Proficiency & Growth Metrics is between 75%-90% for grades K-4 Staff Performance 3-8 is 60% for ELA, 80% for reading, and 50% for math. That is above average or average. Let me just say this as an educator that is huge! Due to Covid and the pandemic, all schools struggle and we felt the blow just as bad as everyone else. With our smaller classroom size, we were able to get our students back on track much more quickly and efficiently than in larger schools. We are proud to announce that Heritage Academy has been selected as one of the 64 quarterfinalists for the 2022 YASS Prize. This is a National Prize for the whole United States. The fact that a small charter school in Jerome Idaho made the list is AMAZING! There have been a lot of upgrades to the school physically as well, new carpet, and furnace and they purchased a building next door. This is used as a community center. They are able to offer students free uniforms, food, and clothing. They also provide counseling services when needed and have implemented a school-wide program to help solve bullying, stress tolerance skills, and emotional regulation. The Zones of Regulation have been implemented and are very successful in social mapping and helping children solve their discrepancies amongst each other or themselves. With that said, no school is perfect and every child will encounter some difficulties or struggles somewhere along their educational journey. Reach out to your teachers and know that we as a school are trying our best to handle such issues. We at Heritage Academy strive for excellence in education, staff professionalism, and student success. Best wishes and may you find the school that best serves you.

This school has everything you need for the children. My student has been offered free counseling, uniforms and even food. I didn’t need the services but they were offered to my student. They recently expanded the building so it’s bigger. They have two buildings now. Also my kid has homework once a week. The teacher gives rewards for completing it. My child loves doing homework. They also love going to school. My child is 2nd grade and is reading and learning so much. They come home with so many papers they completed each week. ‘So I know they are learning. I can always reach out to the teacher and she responds back fairly quickly too. I love the free lunch program for all students less to worry about. I also like the way everyone is so friendly. I have a great experience with this school. My child will go through tell 8th grade.

There are some good teachers at this school. However, the system is not set up to help them succeed. Concerns are often dismissed and ignored. As a parent, I have witnessed bullying from students, clear up to school staff. The board has a higher turnover rate and no real oversight to assist and help the school. They talk a good game, but the inappropriate boundaries, lack of integrity, and bullying from the administration prevents children from making any real progress from one year to the next; in their school work, social life, and mental and emotional stability.

My kids had a terrible experience at this school the principal/superintendent doesn’t believe in actual consequences so bullying from administration, teachers, and students is promoted rather than inhibited. When I removed my kids from this school they were both at least a full year behind. Now that they are in a good school they are thriving and both have straight A’s. Although it was an uphill climb getting caught up after their awful experience at Heritage Academy in Jerome!

My experience at this school is very positive. The environment is very positive as are the teachers and the Administrator. The school had some of the highest reading score growth in the state last year. Heritage is doing a lot of things very well and the bullying is at a very low level. The individual who previously wrote about the administrator and husband being bullies is absolutely not telling the truth at all. I have spent many hours in side the school and have only seen both of them always treat the students with respect and integrity. The teachers really love their students and it shows.

Heritage Academy is a really good school! Our kids enjoy the teachers and staff! The school is older but with the smaller class sizes than most school makes for a better learning experience.

My daughter went to this school for 2 years. Was not happy at all with much this school had to offer... or didnt for that matter. The school is very clickie and I feel favors kids who's parents volunteered the most. They say they do not tolerate bullying but did little to nothing when we had repeated issues with the same girl. Again... the girls mother volunteered full time at the school. I feel my daughter is going to lack skills and be behind at the new school.

I really didn't like this school but some of the teachers are pretty good. But the worst thing is there are no sports. And the principal didn't make a lot of good decisions and a lot of the kids there would complain about the school.

I love Heritage Academy. They work hard to address the needs of each individual students and are great about accepting input from parents and are always making improvements. The teachers are fantastic! The downside is the lack of extracurricular activities like sports and PE.
