my children have excelled at meadow view.there were issues prior with the last principle ,never could see or talk to her . a few teachers and aids that shouldn't be in school with children but that was the prior princples fault but 2017 /2018 was a good year

Children are expected to have silent lunches (I doubt the teachers eat lunch in silence), very limited recess. Mathematics and reading are barely covered to the standard seen in other schools. See note regarding homework. Take heed of the negative reviews and low grading and send your children elsewhere!

So unhappy with Meadowview it's unorganized late letting parents know of events coming up. I haven't had one good moment at this school. My child needs more attention he doesn't get there so he would be behind if I didn't take time to help him after an 8 hour day he has to to work 1-2 hours more it's ridiculous. Their open house was a joke it was like a herd of cows rushing through the doors once they unlocked the doors and nobody knew who their kids teachers were before so we are all trying to read a small piece of paper to find information we should have known before hand. Just a lot of stupid stuff that add up. And instead of not getting my child more help it was pushed under and ignored if I didn't care my child would've been behind! I want so badly to put my kids in southwest elementary a much better choice unless things change big time!!

My Daughter has been going here three years because we can not change districts. It's a terrible school. They make it impossible to change teachers, give a ridiculous amount of homework for such small children, and expect kids to be excited about school. My daughter has the same teacher she had last year even though we had problems.the principal is terrible and does not find solutions to any concerns you have as a parent. It's very disheartening making my child go to such a horrible school. If you have a choice send your kids anywhere else.

This is our 3rd year. Some things need to improve : supposed to let out at 3:30 but never starts releasing till 3:35 or 3:40; communications to parents (different classrooms hardly ever get the same communications sent home even if it's school or grade-wide--last week I got a month-old flyer sent home; last year a registered sex offender had been on campus and instead of notifying parents, we had to read about it in the news; emails to the principal are not answered timely, if answered at all; school events "start" at a certain time, but they make you wait outside the doors till that exact time before they'll let anyone in so there's a massive line for any event. Because of Common Core I believe NC students lack much needed time to be kids. They don't get recess daily and only have P.E. every 6 days. Too many fundraisers. Despite these cons, my son has been blessed with great teachers every year. The AIG teacher is wonderful. The school is fantastic about caring for its military students. Students of deployed parents have special pullout sessions monthly where they can be together and work on deployment issues.

God awful at releasing car rider students on time. Consistently releases them 10 minutes late.

This school is very unorganized. I gave 2 stars only because we have had a couple great teachers. Constant yelling and unnecessary remarks from teacher to student. Seems like there is a great lack of what the teachers role is. The colors they use for disipline get way out of line. Silent lunches and the rare playground time is definitely a downside. Contact higher staff members and they say they will get back.to you but dont.

Meadow View has a very professional staff that goes out their way to help each individual student! Great school experience!

I've been at MVES for two years now.. At first, I felt like this was the worst experience ever! As I got to know some of the teachers, I understand the politics that they endure. The Front Office is sweet, and I misunderstood her when I first arrived. Nothing is perfect, and that goes for the staff at MVES, but they are great PEOPLE.. We only see the outside as parents, never the inside. I retract an earlier post because I did not give them a chance to prove themselves.. Is there room for improvement, absolutely, can they make those improvements, absolutely.. Give them a chance and you will change your mind too! I have been fortunate to have a 3rd grade teacher that is PHENOMENAL!! I love Mrs. Bradshaw! She works hard, is professional and a joy to work with! The Assistant Principal should be the PRINCIPAL! I see her smiling face out there in the mornings, and sometimes in the afternoon.. Bravo to the Assistant Principal!!!

I have been with this school since it opened with multiple children. I have watched amazing teachers leave because of stupidity and poor running if the school. I've watched children pay the price of people not willing to learn. I've seen a principle not care, not be around, stack classes to the students detriment and to the teachers frustrations. She doesn't even know the county's school regulations for different things involving the students. Allowing that school to become an arts school was the worst thing they could have done. The running of the school needed to be fixed first and now the additional electives are used as excuses. If I could sell my house we would have already left the district. I would tell anyone NOT to move into this school district.

Meadow view is the best travel buddyschool my prep class has communicated with Sharon Smith and her wonderful students and parents. for anumber of years We have three tracvel buddy bears Matilida a koala from Downunder in Australia at Holland Park State School and baby Bandit and beautiful Melody from Wonderful Meadowview. The bears are presently with us and we will mail them back to the usa for Christmas. We share school diaries and stories from both our classes and the students email each other . Meadow View has shown great support for disasters we have experienced in Australlia and always touch our hearts with their care and kind messagesI is so wonderful to share stories with such a dedicated school that aims for the very best for theri students even fdrom ayoung age How wonderful tit is to read stories fro the students. In Australia we received beautiful messages about our very special ANZAC day April 25 wriiten by the students and we hope to contiune our friendship and know that distance brings us closer together in love and friendship Meadow view is an outstanding school that reachers out to us in a very specila way. May the students, teachers and staff be safe

I have volunteered at this school, almost weekly over the past 3 years and think the school is doing a great job. I have seen them handle difficult situations with the utmost professionalism. Schools are under tremendous stress these days because of educational standards and ratio of students to staff. If you spent a few days in the classroom, you would observe the "standards", assessments, curriculum, and special activities that are required. Many of them have 27 students in a class -- of varying educational levels -- that they are expected to teach. I have found the teachers and administrators to be caring and committed to the students. I encourage every parent to spend time in the school if possible. It will give you a different perspective. Quite frankly, I am not sure how they do it day in and day out while keeping such a positive attitude!

had to delete my last post. I was to angry. I have decided the people who work in education should get paid based on the number of people they actually help. They should also get a huge pay cut if they give someone really bad information that isn't even close and hurts the children. Also, the next person to call me "Baby, honey, darlin'" is going to get it. *Spare me the scarastic comments...I know they are coming" haha

My child has attended two years and both were good years. Staff I encountered cared about the students overall and my child has learned a lot this past year and enjoyed school.

Meadowview has become an A plus school. I beleive this year will be a fantastic year!! The staff went through a week of training to be A plus. It brings a whole new meaning to learning.

I have had a terrible time trying to get face time with the principal to discuss my child's experience in Kindergarten. The staff has obvious problems, as they do not use discretion when complaining to one another in front of parents and students. Several teachers have expressed a lack of support and leadership is lacking to say the least. The leadership needs to read the book "The Secret" about servant leadership and put some new practices to work... immediately. I am truly disappointed!!!

I AGREE!!! WORST SCHOOL EVER!!!!! teachers only care about covering their A_ _! NOT your children.

WARNING! worst school ever....no stars!!! but would not let me submit with out at least one... nothing but problems with everything at this school: teachers, principle, students unruly. probably moving so our kids can go to different school. don't make your children go there! WARNING !!!! any good reviews are probably from the staff trying to cover up their embarrassing school.. sad for my children that they ever had to go.....
