I went to this school very recently, and throughout my nine years at the school I had come to the realization that this school is not a good environment, especially for elementary and middle school students. Most of the staff in the elementary and middle school are incompetent and extremely inconsiderate about student's feelings on subjects and beliefs. The principal and vice principal I believe was what made me dislike this school. I was never shown respect by them. They victimize students to protect their staff and are extremely hard to work with. If you are looking to bring your child here, I would not recommend it. There were certain teachers that were fair with me and other kids, but lots of them had presumptions about kids based off of miniscule details. There are loads of better Catholic schools in the area. So, save yourself the time and money. Some kids will thrive here, but lots of kids will grow to have major disdain towards the school like me due to the complete incompetence of the staff.

Elementary was great but there is a HUGE disconnect from elementary and middle school. Most of the middle school teachers are liberal left leaning and truly support Indoctrination, from videos they show to subjects they talk about.

I have 3 children at San Jose and we have been there for about 4 years. All of our the teacher's experiences have been positive and they have impacted my children learning effectively. The school very much has a community feel and have met many lovely families over the years.

Great! I have 2 kids at the school and a 3rd one starting soon. I love the size (not too big), the offerings and have found the quality of teaching to be excellent.

We are a non-catholic family that has been at San Jose for 3 years. The school could not have been more welcoming and inclusive to our family, and we love being a part of this school's community. There is no question that San Jose provides an excellent academic education in a nurturing environment.

My youngest is in kindergarten. She attended the school since she was 2. I cannot say enough good things about the preschool program and its teachers. They are truly amazing. My oldest is in high school, and had a very positive experience here in middle school.I am teacher at the school. I taught many years in public. I can honestly say this school does what is best for the STUDENT. They don't focus on teaching to the test or staying on a county directed pace. We focus on the whole child from their faith, their character development, academics, athletics, and so much more! I am proud to work here, and so glad I made the switch!

I love our school community! We have a Kindergartener and a 3rd grader and have been at the school since the 3rd grader was in PreK-4. I look forward to each new school year to see the kids learn and grow in their faith (helps mom and dad too!). This is a school that strives for excellence in education for a well rounded child. I feel the entire school community espouses there values in our mission to foster Catholic identity and academic excellence through faith, love and knowledge. When issues have arisen in the classrooms I have felt acknowledged, supported and comfortable with the outcome and courses of action.

My child has attended this school for 6 years. When issues have arisen, the faculty and administration have been responsive and compassionate. The school has a neighborhood feel to it and we really enjoy the family activities that the school hosts. The smaller school size means that my child gets to participate in activities like sports and performing arts - in a public school there are too few spots for too many children. Overall, I think this school is a great value. The tuition is lower than most of the competing private schools.

This school cares more about sports than academics. They promote sports over their academics activities. The teachers play favoritism towards the athletes as well as kids related to the faculty. They have high turnover of teachers, and they get replaced with inexperienced/young/fresh graduates.Do not get fooled by the fake tours or advertisements – there’s nothing amazing about this school unless your kid is into sports. If you don’t click with the administration or other influential parents your kid(s) will not get treated fairly, and get undeserving bad grades.Stay away from this school – Beware Do NOT enroll you kid(s)!! Needless to say my kid no longer goes to this school.

My Daughter had a wonderful year in PK4, here. I found it very easy to talk and communicate with her educators about her needs. It'd have been 5 stars if it were not for an ill tempered person handling their accounting. I would have also liked to have seen her challenged a little more because she came in already knowing how to read and count amongst other things. However, I loved that they focused on her emotional development because she was a gifted student and that was not something I had really expected. Mrs. Garcia, Mrs. May, Mrs. Lemon all had a wonderful impact on my little girl and I would not have changed the last year of our lives for anything. Thank you, SJCS.

We are so glad you have come to check out our school here at GreatSchools. You can catch a virtual glimpse of the truly amazing school we are. However, as is with anything virtual, it is limited in what you can truly perceive. We invite you to come by and get to know us. Set up a tour of our school to meet our outstanding faculty and staff; and to see our happy and engaged students. In the classrooms, on the athletic fields, and most importantly in growing our faith, our students excel in so many ways. Our school has a powerful sense of community and the energy to build together positively. We would love for your family to become a part of ours: You Belong Here.

I have a child at San Jose Catholic Grade School. This school has extremely high standards for both the students and the faculty, and I feel that the preparation for high school has been excellent. Some of the faculty there deserve special praise as truly talented educators: Mrs. Gray, Mrs. Moore, Mrs. Karel, Mrs. Dowell, Mrs. Cratem, Mrs. Montvillas, Mrs. Thomy, Mrs. Loadholtz and Mrs. Chin. A special comment must be made about first year principal, Brian Wheeler. He has proven to be a man of uncompromising character, insight, and leadership. He has shown a tremendous amount of involvement and caring for the students in this school, and is the type of man that you want as a role model for your children.

San Jose Catholic Administration needs to make changes to retain the families they have--instead of encouraging current families to spread the word to their friends about how great the school is in order to recruit new students. Only changes this year has been rebranding. Weekly newsletter contains no useful information.

This is a great school. My youngest is attending and my oldest is in college. I have been through both public and private schools in Jacksonville. As a parent who is focused on my child's skills, I find that this school does a superior job. My eldest graduated from Stanton's IB program and I feel that the foundation lain with my youngest at this school is far better than the preparation that my IB student received at other schools in Jacksonville. I like the culture of the school. At most schools, the parents are blown off when concerns are raised. Not here - the staff tries very hard to address concerns. It takes a village and I feel that San Jose Catholic School tries very hard to be that village.

May God watch over all the parents, faculty, staff and most of all students at this school as they start a new chapter with their new Principal. Pay close attention to all he says and does.

San Jose Catholic School has excellent academics, caring teachers, and a loving community. I am a Christian, yet not Catholic. I am proud to send my daughter to this fantastic school.
