The bullying at this school is awful. Principles see parents as a threat when talking to them or trying to get some kind of understanding /explanation. This school is just sad. Testing score are very low. Being a concerned parent they see that as a threat. Instead of closing jacksonville elementary down they should have closed this school down.

This is a decent school but the Principal has MAJOR issues with parents being up at the school whom she sees as a threat. The teachers are doing their best and it shows but they can only do so much due to the micro management that is bearing down on them all by the principal.

Hi!! I went to pinewood for 6 years from Kindergarten all the way to 5Th grade, This year I am going to middle school. It is so sad because my worst nightmare was leaving the school, The teachers become so close to you and our principal Melanie Churchill is the best principal we've had since Mr.Lester left. The school is not very big. But its starting to look better than it did. So Send you're child there Melanie Churchill is making the school a better enviorment also I don't think there is really a lot of bullying there. The school will take care of your child... we are going to leave it at that.

I agree with the last comment. After Jacksonville Elementary closed, Pinewood went down considerable. They could not keep a permit principle in the office, they moved Bobby Lester somewhere else in the district and I think that was their biggest mistake. Last year my son who was a kindergartener got bullied by older kids in the mornings, and when I would go talk to the principle about it, there was always a different principle. This year they have a new principle who is suppose to permit, not sure how well she is going to do. So far she changed the pick up lines and it takes forever to get your child. I got in line at 2:15 and didn't get home till after 3:00 and I live less than a mile from the school. My son had a great teacher last year, but I am not liking the one he has this year. She has never taught before, this is her first year teaching. To prevent the bullying I don't let my son eat breakfast at school, because that when it seemed he always got bullied. It funny because I would go ever morning and stand back and watch the bullying happen, and it seemed still nothing would be done about it. Also the staff used to friendly, and seems now that aren't friendly at all.

after jacksonville elementary closed Pinewood has gone down in my opinion. Some teachers dont seem to care whether their students learn or not, bullying is let go and not addressed to proper levels, in the past years this school was awesome and cared about their students and curricullum this year it seems to have forgotten that they are there to teach and not make money and go home. I send my child to school to be educated not to be babysat by someone who is there for a paycheck.
