If I had another choice for my child to attend 5-6 grades, I would run to the other choice. This school is not a good one at all. The administration will only speak to you if you, if you show up and sit in front of them so that they are forced to answer your questions. The Principal does not return phone calls in a timely manner if at all. If she addresses your email, she does not solve the problem. She attempts to tell you a very short answer so that she can say that she answered you. The Principal and Asst Principal are never seen out and about on campus like at the other schools. They do not fix any problems that occur in this school but like to ignore problems and act as if they do not happen here. You can bring this Principal all the proof in the world and she does not believe that things happen at this school. Your child will be bullied and the Principal and the teachers ignore it. Even a parent going to the Principal with bullying is ignored. There is a teacher there that bullies her students and the Principal was notified and proof was given yet it was still ignored. This is the worst school in the district.They waste time with College Bound rallies and morning meetings that the kids think are a waste of time or are fun because they do not require any additional work on their part. This school needs to fire this Principal and get one that actually cares about the kids, the community and the learning that goes on here. Currently, the only thing this Principal cares about is putting on a good show. Grades and test scores on STARR show that this school has issues. The kids are not prepared for how Jr High works.

This school got a new Principal last year and the school went down here after that. No homework, no study guides, no communication from the school at all. You won't know what goes on unless you read the marquee outside of the school. They say the kids supposed to write everything in their planner & if they do you will know what they are learning. Only some teachers put things on the board, others don't and having a page number listed but that doesn't tell me what my child learned that day. Graded papers rarely come home, so check your Skyward account to see if they are passing or failing because most of the teachers here are in cliques and are more worried about gossiping with each other than teaching. If you have a legitimate concern, they get defensive if you question them and won't do a thing if your child is being bullied. The bully is never punished. The Principal is a joke. She is more worried about looking like she walked out of Dillard's than this campus. She is never out and about and never gets involved in bullying incidents unless you make her. Oh , and one more thing- this school is more worried about naming off different colleges and wearing their shirts than actually teaching. This campus is a joke now. Did not use to be this way. Worst campus of them all in this district and the teachers have little to no experience with teaching plus they do not know how to conduct themselves with parent conversations and how they talk to the kids.

We moved here last year and my daughter attends 5th grade -she loves this school. We have moved around a lot and this is now my daughter's 6th school she has attended. Overall it is a great school. The 5th graders have 2 primary teachers that the kids switch back and forth from. She loves one of the teachers and really dislikes the other. She loves the gym teacher and all of the other teachers though. The front office staff, the nurse, the counselor, and the principle are all awesome. She had an incident in the beginning of school where some other girls were talking about her and we reported it to the office and they called the girls all in and it completely stopped so I have a hard time believing anyone ignores bullying at this school. It is a smaller school which my daughter likes -overall this has been one of her favorite schools she has attended and it is much much better than two of the three 9-rated (by greatschools.com) schools she attended in another state!
