I also attended this school for the full 12 years and had a fantastic experience. I do not think one student that graduated from this academy could say that they were not well prepared for college. I was treated with respect by the teachers because I treated them with respect. Most of the teachers at the academy have children of their own, and strive to treat all the students as their own. All of the administration and faculty try to help the students as much as possible. I was very prepared for college after attending IA because I had to work for my grades. I am not rich, and I was not treated any different than any of my class mates. I loved this school and strongly feel like I will be a successful person because of it.

As a former student of IA for the full 12 years, I have full rights to tell the truth about it. First of all, you must have the right last name to get anywhere there. Grades are handed out according to your parents social status, as well as sports inclusion regardless of how good you are in whatever the sport. I feel that many would-be sports legends were eliminated at IA simply because of the last name issue. Secondly, the teachers will bully students as much as the other students will. I had a teacher who, for whatever reason, didn't like my parents and she purposely tried to prevent me from graduating by failing me on purpose. So-called school administration was absolutely useless and worthless in getting this remedied. Thirdly, it is and has been a tremendous expense to avoid going to public schools. In the MS Delta area, there are no other choices, other than home schooling. Public schools are nothing but a zoo and private schools are a joke and a waste of money, at best. To sum it all up, avoid IA at all costs and home school if you can. The full twelve years I was incarcerated there, I had only three teachers that were of any quality. The rest were absolutely useless.

My children go to this school. It has a good athletic program and the academic curriculum is well rounded.
