Honestly, The school does the most. They suspend kids for arguing. I know someone who get suspended for a week just because of arguing. They neglect the teens mental health. They do nothing about kids being bullied. The officers who control traffic does not do anything. It is sad. Honestly. The only good thing is the location. Not even that sometimes.

My son graduated from Pike after starting out at a private Christian high school. He excelled there and enjoyed taking Latin and being part of the drama department. He also enjoyed the orchestra.

Terrible school! and my 4 years at Pike was absolutely bad! and it was Really not good it was lots of fights, cussing and bad kids. the Teachers i had were awful too. and the Principal and Staff can control most of the kids behavior. I graduated 2020 and Thank God i'm no longer at Pike anymore!Not a Very Good Experience i had! don't recommend.

A predominately black school with kids with some sense… a lot of kids have the means here they just play too much because they have spoiled parents. A realistic view of the world coming from a person that had private school roots.

Terrible, I hated every minute of it. I don't know how things have changed since I graduated in 07, but the place was an educational wasteland when I attended.

The education that Pike provided me prepared me for all facets of life. I given the opportunity to learn from excellent teachers and along side a diverse student population. Most of my peers in college did not have that experience and were much worse off. The diversity that Pike High School embraces preps and prepares students for the diversity of life. I am a proud Red Devil and will always speak highly of my time and Pike.

Pike High School is a tremendous school. Every student has an opportunity to get a Pre-collegiate education.

Pike is fueled by an administrative team which seeks to keep its political edge, rather than address the serious educational issues that the district faces. Free-thinking and inquiry are stifled and/or redirected to the larger "administrative" perspective in order to maintain Pike's image, which is carefully supported by the district's public relations department. This managed release of information is designed to confuse and assuage parent/guardian and media concerns. The high school and its feeder schools languish in mediocrity, without really addressing the important issues such as poverty, reading readiness, tracking, and true racial and cultural understanding. Accepting the fact that its honors students outperform neighboring IPS and charter schools is not a good enough selling point for this once proud district. The district needs a fresh approach to meet its needs.

Pike High School has great honors and AP classes. The music and sports programs are worthwhile. It is a diverse school with many opportunities. Some alumni have become NBA and NFL players and one stars on Saturday Night Live.

Sad experience at Pike!!! This was the absolute worst choice I could as far as a high school for my child. The Freshman Center administration lacks compassion, this isn't a school, it's a prison and children aren't treated with respect.

A horrible school and administration, especially the shameful special education admin. Do NOT send your child to this school, or any of the Pike elementary or middle schools- if you are looking for a new home, seek another township or suburb where your children and tax dollars don't go towards this substandard education. The special ed admin has a well known poor reputation state-wide with other schools and staff. The incompetent special ed admin WILL impact your child: Children with special needs are given little to no assistance, and this not only affects their education but the entire classroom environment as well. The schools are physically and emotionally unsafe for your child unless placed in a gifted and talented class. Save yourself the fear and heartache for your child and do not send them to this school system.

My husband and I are graduates of Pike (2002). We took several classes together and both agreed that we had great teachers. We are college educated with great careers. We don't attribute all of our success to Pike because education regardless of the level is what you make of it. Every school has its issues and it depends on the student to not get distracted. Plus my parents were heavily involved in my academic success and didn't leave it to the teachers and counselors.

Pike is not for everyone. Teachers and Coaches show favoritism towards certain kids. The admistration staff is not worthy of praise; I have not seen them treat students equally in discipline and half do their jobs. The counselors mislead students into taking unnecessary classes. Pike High preachs about doing IB track allowing so the school will look good yet the students grades are average (C). Teachers are not on the same page, which means they teach and grade unfairly. With that being said Pike High School should reconsider their adminstrative staff and teachers.

This school is the best place for your child in INDIANA!! Plenty of extra help, great sports programs, fantastic teachers, DIVERSITY which helps create a well rounded child, an international Baccalaureate program and most of all, it' has a first class facility! You cant go wrong....My son is a sophmore and love his school!

As a past student of Pike, I was more prepared than most students in college. Pike taught me the exact skills needed to succeed in college and in the real world. What aggravated me more than anything was the misinformed and ignorant views people have towards Pike. It was viewed as "ghetto" but the massive ranges in diversity, both cultural and socioeconomic, are outstanding. I would recommend Pike to any parent who wants their child to avoid cliques, and bullying from private schools because everyone is so unique at Pike that you'll be accepted into a group somewhere. The fact that Pike got a 3/10 on this website is a travesty and I hope that parents who are looking at Pike don't take those numbers into account and look at the wonderful reviews from parents and students because Pike is really worth it and, in my book, is a 10/10.

Amazing school, great teachers who were knowledgeable for the most part. Did a lot to ensure students got involved in at least one activity. Great athletics and great facilities. One of 13 schools in the state to offer the IB Diploma so its not the stupid school that everyone makes it out to be. Extremely diverse which puts you in real life situations, let's you know exactly how the outside world is and embraces how diverse it is and is proud of it. Not a lot of problems with race even with all the diversity. You get what you put into it, if you put in the effort the teachers will put in the effort and give you a good education. If you don't try then you won't get one of the best educations in the state. I am now at Ball State and find it much easier dealing with school work and dealing with people since I was a minority at Pike. Wouldn't trade the education, experiences, or memories I got from Pike for anything.
