Do not be fooled, it is not a safe place for children who cannot defend themselves… as a mother, friend and neighbor I do not recommend it even if it was the only school available…. All the staff are deplorable, nefarious and incompetent... if you want your child to have a traumatic experience, send him there... I can't say much about this pathetic staff.

I am amazed how each Teacher cares that the students is successful, no matter where they are in their educational path! The staff has been very helpful with my concerns, they encourage my input in my son's education potential. My son didn't know anyone attending Longfellow, however he fit very well in the diverse student body, a nice representation of the "real word" population. A great diversity in the teaching staff as well, there are male as well as young and experienced teachers. My son has enjoyed that to help the learning experience become more interesting. Teachers are not a carbon copies, each class has a different teaching style, which is important in the work place and higher education. We had a bad experience in Catholic school and moved to Longfellow in 7th grade, first time in an IPS school. I would love to see more parent involvement. There are many opportunities being missed in partnering with the child's education. The challenge is the student come from all over the district and are only here for 2 years, parents are not getting involved. They do have sports teams. Over all we couldn't have had a better Middle school experience!

I love this school I am currently a student there as of the 2012-13 school year and I LOVE it!
