I would love to give SVA a great review. My kids have had very different experiences in the building. Child A has adhd & is a gifted student. Although they are in advanced classes they're bored often due to lack of engagement from teachers and get in trouble almost daily. They've been made to feel like the target of teachers' negativity year after year. I know my child isn't perfect, but being in trouble every single day when you're really trying your hardest is no way to go through life. They have zero focus on social emotional learning here & if your child doesn't have a 504 plan or an iep they will be overlooked... it seems at this school you have to get one for your child to get any help in any way. The teachers don't do anything with threats against other kids & the administration is even worse. I can't wait until Child A is out of this school. Child B is younger & loves SVA. They are getting great grades & have lots of friends. They've had some trouble, but mostly on the bus with bigger kids. I'm guessing Child B's experience is also different because they're in a lower grade level. I'm not looking forward to Child B reaching middle school here at all.

this school isnt the best, i get treated diffrently then other poeple here because im diffrent? i get harassed for my looks and etc, there are so many racist people/bullies in this school and the staff/teachers does barely anything to help, all they do to solve harassment is just to give the person who was harassing the victim a "talking to", and that doesnt change anything. im honestly tired of this school, step up your game.

Both of my children have attended Summit View since kindergarten and the teachers and administration are great. They have always been fair with grading and have been quick to address any concerns that I or my children have. They have had opportunities to learn things they would not at other area public schools, and the steam lab has opened their minds to technological innovations they otherwise would not have known about. Summit View offers many opportunities for their students they would not get at other public or even private schools, and I would absolutely reccomend sending your children to this school.

Has some great teachers but not a fan of administration. 60% of their grades are test so if you have a child that has an iep or struggles with test they will have hard time getting good grades. Very little support with IEP and most teachers don’t follow them and you have to really advocate for your child non-stop. My oldest is high achieving and they love them. So very focused on test scores
