As a parent of two students at Meadows Elementary, I enthusiastically recommend Meadows Elementary to any families. My children have had wonderful experiences, caring teachers, and have grown academically in ways that have exceeded my expectations. The principal and staff are caring, involved, and invested in each child, helping to create a learning experience that is supportive and effective. The counselor does a wonderful job with presenting information that helps kids process their emotions and share their feelings in ways that are healthy and kind. The after school childcare and Wildcat Wonders Book Club are fantastic extensions of the school day. Book Club has helped build my children's love of reading by providing fun club meetings every month surrounding a book they provide for us to read as a family. The education my children have received at Meadows has prepared them to excel on grade level standards on the state test AND compete against their peers across the county and state in events like Math Field Day, the WVRA Literature Fair, and All County musical program. They are confident in what they know and their ability to learn, to the credit of the teachers and staff at Meadows.

Excellent school to be involved with! Teachers take great interest in the students and provide a nurturing learning environment for our kids. The kids actually want to be there and enjoy going to Meadows.

The low income family's are at the bottom of the chain their is no communication between parents and staff. The children deserve a better start when it comes to a successful start to the education process of life

Meadows Elementary had ups and downs but it has improved tremendously under the current principals' leadership. The building needs to be updated.

My son is in 3rd grade this year and we have been unimpressed with both his primary teacher, who doesn't appear to do much in the classroom, sends home papers that haven't even been corrected -- in fact, when my child gets all of his math problems WRONG she has done nothing to help him correct his mistakes and once even put a sticker on a math paper that contained only 2 correct responses (out of 20). This indicates to me that she's not even paying attention to the work being done in her own class. The principal is friendly, but basically useless in regard to creating a school culture that promotes learning and teacher accountability. We will be looking into a different school for next year.

There are things about Meadows that I like and things that I don't. It is a small school, the teachers all know who I am and who my child is and it is within walking distance. Those are the good points. The academics are mediocre, the county seems to have forgotten that the school is there except to mention that they might close it down and all of the staff seems to be on autopilot. There is just no life at the school. Meh.

Very unsatisfied with the staff, who seemed for the most part apathetic and more concerned about making their jobs as easy as possible. As soon as there are any problems they will do all they can to have your child switched to a different school. "Where kids come first" only seems to apply until it might inconvenience them apparently.
