Bullying by both - students and teachers. Avoid at all costs.

Still terrible. My son is in 5th grade here. They didn't even know he had an IEP until I told them I wanted an ARD meeting. Then all of a sudden he has a case manager that I've never spoke with. He said she came in a couple of times for the first time the week before his ARD. I get the ARD done and have his IEP updated. One of the things I added was to have his ghost of a case manager sit with him and help him fill out his planner so I know what assignments he has. I asked his teacher and she made an excuse and told me I need to hold him accountable for it. How about I hold the school accountable? Another teacher just flat out ignored my emails and class dojo chats. This is just so disappointing. This school gets more money because of my special education son and they don't even use it. It's ridiculous to ask me to hold him accountable for something I know nothing about. It's the entire point of the IEP to give me the info I need so I can make sure his work is done. Oh and also, several of his classes have 1 -5 assignments in Schoology for the entire year. How am I supposed to help when I don't know what's going on? I've asked them and they just tell me he needs to be accountable. I'm positive these teachers know absolutely nothing about his disability nor do they want to know. Bullying is also bad from students and teachers. This school sucks. I can't wait to take him out. My son is depressed because of this school. He thinks he's stupid because of this school.

I don't even know where to start with this school. I eneded up moving just so I could get my child into another school district( We only made it through the first quarter.). My child never had any previous school issues from any of his prior schools, until he attedned Budwig. During this time my child was bullied, which i showed proof to the school, indured frequent school fights, I had phone calls all the time from teachers that couldnt handle inhouse school matters, my child explained to me that wgen he reported student issues they were not addressed. I have kept and documented scratches, and bruises on my child constantly from other students. My child ended up with depression and having to be on a antidpressant from everything that was indured in this short time. Children fight in the bathrooms and smoke in the bathrooms, drugs are brought into the school by students. I filled the fomrs to withdrawl my child the last day before break. I called the first two days the studends were back from break and no one in the office answered the phone. One the third day i was finally able to get ahold of the receptionsit to ask about my childs school supplies. ( He was sent with all of the required schhol listed supplies) and was told during winter break that the teachers clean out the rooms. So my son " Had no supplies there." Was it just my childs items thrown out? Or did they go through each students items and do the same? I was given the run around. During the school year i talked to several different teachers and even had a meeting and asked if they offer other programs or if my student could be transfered. ( no other programs were offered.) I went to the someone in the school district which confirmed to me that my child didnt have any other issues listed on his record from prior schools, but was told he would have to not have any issues for 3 months to get a transfer submitted ot antoher school, even though i explained him getting bullied and having depression due to school issues. I feel that my child was labled as a problem child and that my concers were not handled or addressed accordingly. My child is now doing outstanding in his new school with no issues at all. I feel my son was let down by Staff. The parent and student reviews are very accurate. Avoid this school if you are able too. BUDWIG DO BETTER FOR YOUR STUDENTS. Issues should be taken seriously specially when it comes to a child being bullied and that student developing anxiety and depression

I agree with all that is said about the school with the parent comment on December 1 2017 and add that when they talk to you they’re unprofessional talking out loud as if you’re deaf so everyone can hear that they are in control

It's bad enough that the majority of the students come from households that lack the fundamental characteristics associated with success in life. Single parents, unknown fathers, addiction to welfare and government programs, and very little attention to parenting in general are, sadly, a large number of the students. But, worse, is the exceptionally low quality of the faculty and administration. They are themselves only moderately separated from the characteristics of failure in much of the community. It's not possible for people who think it's "cool" to have a Winter Jam session to serve as examples of success in our society. Hard work, discipline, self-reliance, personal responsibility, and respect for oneself and others are critical elements that are lacking in many of these kids households. It doesn't help when these factors are only marginally represented among the administration, staff, and faculty.

Very bad experience. My daughter goes here. It’s her 1st semester. They are not organized. Teachers don’t care if students are failing in the class. Teachers don’t like to talk to parents. If you try to address any issue to counselor or principal, nothing gets resolved. They cover each other. They don’t let you talk to the teachers. Librarians don’t know what are they doing. She doesn’t like to answer any questions you may have. Very bad school.

My son attended this school. The teachers are great but the asst.principle is a very rude man, when I called concerning a very important problem he seem as if I was bothering him. Keep in mind this was concerning my son he hung up in my face numerous time and would not transfer nor let me speak to the head principle. I think this man should not be working with parent nor children with such a rude and horrible attitude, also I still haven't received a call from the principle.

I have a daughter who attends this school and I would not recommend this school to anyone. The staff and teachers make up rules as they go along and they only apply to some of the students not all of the students.
