Great PBIS program! Van Brunt has a very caring and dedicated staff. PTO is dedicated and provides awesome activities like the fall and spring dance and high interest day.

Mr. Olson, the principal of this school, in my opinion, is a bully. He removed our child (10 years of age) from class to lock him in a room and informed him until he "told the truth" he was not allowed to leave. The infraction that was occurred was that he fell against the school building while at recess. We received a call informing us that this was the last straw! He's tired of seeing him in in his office. This was the first we heard of any problems the entire year. The previous year they held a meeting trying to get us to medicate our child. We were called into a meeting. It was with 8 teachers and the principal (Mr. Olson). None of the teachers spoke once Mr. Olson entered the room. He informed us that our child was going onto what was best described as going on a probation period. He was required to check in and receive a number of points for each period. Felt as though the meeting was to just put us into submission so they could do whatever they had planned. No room or time for any discussion. The next day we called around, and found a great private school happy for an A student. Entitled babysitters, lead by a bully. YOUR CHILDREN DISERVE BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The review from 2008 is completely outdated. Since then there has been a shift in administration, as well as teachers. My child is cared for and knows it. What my child is learning blows my mind every single day. The dedication of the teachers is absolutely amazing. Teachers come in early and leave late, the building is old...yet very colorful and student work is always displayed. If I ever move out of Horicon, I will still school choice my children. A great school with great teachers. A perfect fit for my child!
