We have a year under our belt at Westside, and our kiddo has absolutely loved the experience. We found her teacher to be deeply caring for her personally and academically. She really knew our kiddo and tailored her approach to engage her. The result was growth beyond our expectations both academically and socially. We also appreciate the events that the school and PTO put on throughout the year. Great ways to raise funds for the school and enable us to know our Wildcat community. Keep it up Westside!

I give this school tremendous credit on their social and emotional programs. The best I have seen implemented in public school. Very progressive and positive. The teachers are hit and miss, as are the academics. Some are exceptional and others old fashioned. The school offers amazing programs outside of school like roller skating nights and field day, really fun and special events for the kids and the community.My greatest complaint is around equity. I felt there was a big discrepancy and lack of understanding from a largely high income community for those with lower income families. The school felt more like adversaries vs. partners and it felt like it came from a place of lack of understanding the struggles of lower income groups. For neurotypical kiddos, I really give the SEL program the highest regard, they are amazing at inclusivity and making these kids feel valued by the school and their peers. Not all of the teachers do, but the counselors and programs are life changing. Academically, mixed bag. Some strong teachers and others lacking. Inconsistent from class to class on expectations. We did have one outstanding teacher during our time there.

This is the best school we've ever came in contact with. We moved over the summer and sure miss it. Our new school doesn't even come close to this place . The staff here were like family
