This is a racist school located here in Kona. The school targets students whose last names aren’t white (latinx, native, foreign) and purposefully ask for additional proof of address. I was accused of falsifying my proof of address by altering the document, which it’s obviously a lie.Schools like these prove to society that Hawai’i belongs to the white people, not the natives. Imperialist minds like the Whites continue to oppress others even in lands that aren’t theirs.

If I could give this school zero stars I would. The environment at this school is toxic for children. My child was so miserable attending this school he would threaten to kill himself so he wouldn't have to go. He was failing his work and just hated life here and he wasn't the only student who felt this way. Poorly run school! Oh and they give the kids lots of junk food so there's a number of kids with weight issues now. They give them chocolate, candy, cookies, ice cream etc all the time. I repeatedly asked the school to stop giving my child junk food, but they wouldn't listen and my son ended up with cavities from it. Now that my son is out of this school he's so happy and is an honor roll student at his new school. It's a night and day difference with him from being at Holualoa and at now at his new school. Don't send your kids here if you can help it.

Both children enrolled this year after a lifetime at private schools. They absolutely LOVE the school, teachers and activities. They have excelled and there are so many special activities to participate in. . .robotics, tech team, Newberry Book team, and recently, a track team. All of the teachers are so passionate in what they do and in the children! School assemblies are great honoring the honor students and students of the month, insuring all parents of children receiving awards are informed so they can attend. Their PTO is so active and successful! The Principal and Vice Principal are so active and are always seen, caring for their school and children. Love this school, I am just said it only goes to 5th grade.
