Our experience has been outstanding! The kids have loved attending HMS. The teachers are caring, and the administrators are highly engaged.

Hingham Middle School is a premier middle school for grades 6-8 located in the lovely seaside town of Hingham, Massachusetts-one of the oldest and most established towns in the US. Abraham Lincoln is a descendant of Benjamin Lincoln-who was given the sword of Cornwallis at the surrender of the British at the end of the American Revolution. We have an excellent staff and faculty. Going to work is a pleasure for the teachers, but especially next September when the school moves into a brand new school facility. Our students are ready to learn and inspiring to teach. Although there is demanding curriculum, we know how to have fun. Our school was featured last spring around the world for arranging a surprise school-wide flash mob for our retiring principal. (Not an easy secret to keep with over 1,100 people involved! Hingham Middles School offers much in the way of co-curriculars: an Adventure Club, an Ambassador Club, Choral Spectrum, and a marvelous drama program. Arts are a valuable part of the curriculum and our new facility will enable us to showcase the amazing talent of our students to the community. We have the best students in the world!

I agree that there is a fair amount of homework, but if there is no challenge school becomes boring. This year I was placed in all advanced classes and was challenged for the first time. As a student find classes extremely boring if there is is't anything that is difficult. The issue of bullies was also brought up in a previous review and I think the guidence conselors do a great job managing these situations. As for the parents, I believe some of the parents put their children in classes that are too difficult for them. This often causes students to have difficulty. I recomend that parents place their children in classes recomended by their teachers. A 7th Grade Student
