St. James School has been an amazing school for all three of my children. The way they stay up to date with the technology for these kids and the academics that goes with it is so impressive. They really help encourage the children to challenge themselves and help them reach their goals. The family atmosphere that is also with this school is amazing. I am so glad that I chose this school for my children and so are they. It has helped the two of them that have graduated be prepared for High School and even into college and is doing the same for my 7th grader.

We LOVE St. James! We are a Military family and after touring several area schools none of them made us feel as welcome as the staff at St. James. This was the first time our daughter had to change schools and they were very supportive and helpful with the transition. The fact that the classes are smaller is nice as the teacher really has the time to get to know your child and what strengths and weaknesses they may have. St. James encourages academic excellence and spiritual growth in a family friendly environment . Our daughter is getting ready to start her second year at St. James and she can't wait to go back to school. The faculty at St. James is dedicated to the success of each child and encourages family involvement in their education experience. It is evident that the Principal loves what she does and goes above and beyond for the school. I highly recommend St. James to anyone. Come check us out!

As a military family who moves every two to three years, finding good schools can be a challenge at times! We were very happy with St. James. Small classes and friendly teachers made us feel good with our decision. The principal is very friendly and always working to improve classrooms, programs, and activities for the kids. Before school and after-school care is also and option, making it nice to keep your child in one spot all day!

After numerous preschools in Highland Park, I enrolled my son in St. James & never regretted it. They usually have 1 teacher, and 2 teacher's aides for the PreK classroom. They get the kids outside in the winter, unlike other local PreKs that are in Dist 112. The school worked so well for my family that I kept him enrolled for their all day Kindergarten program. Mrs. Pohl, the Kindergartner teacher & vice principal, is that teacher who loves each child for their individuality. The Rowland Readers program is a favorite of the students. This school truly cares about each child. The teachers are patient and keep parents informed of your child's progress. They welcome parents to be involved in their child's school day, unlike the public schools in the area that stop you from entering at the front desk. The Kindergartners love the "buddy" program they have with pairing them with an older child in the middle school grades. They learn by example, and make a new friend. If you ever have a problem, the office is open for you to reach out to the principal. Mrs. Vitulli, a former teacher & current principal, loves this school and it shows.

I am a fan of St. James! I have two daughters in 2nd and 4th grades at St. James. They are excited everyday to go to school and disappointed on days they don't. As I parent this is a wonderful feeling. Beyond that, I feel that the education they are receiving is really preparing them for their future learning experiences. The principal, teachers, staff, and parents work together as a family to make sure that my girls are getting what they need to not only be great students but also great people. I volunteer weekly at the school and see first hand how the teaching staff is fully involved in making sure that my children are engaged and getting the most out of school. This school has been a great fit for us, it gives me peace of mind to know that my children are happy and leaning at St. James.

This school is about average. They are not in the top 10% in the country. The class sizes vary from year to year. When there is not enough enrollment, like in my 3rd grade daughter's class, they combined 2nd/3rd grade and did not tell us until school started. My child had already learned her 2nd grade material.
