A school is not a place that should be demonstrating poor leadership. Staff, teachers administrators, especially the principal should be held to a standerd to where parents feel comfortable leaving there kids.Blanca Capetillo, the principal should be the leader in making sure (at a minimum) that this happens but that is not the case with her. Her lack of communication and leadership leave me to question her competence to run any organization, let alone one as important as a school.Me and my wife tryed to contact her about an incident that happened in my childs classroom, this phonecall happened at about 8am, we where told that she was not in her office but if we left a message that she would get back with us , so we did. After waiting till 1:30pm i decided that we had given her ample time to atleast get back with us and let us know someone was addressing our concirns. i decided to call back, instead of leaving another message i told them that i would wait on hold to speak with her. After being on hold for about 20 minutes another staff member answered the phone and asked what i needed. When i responded that i would like to continue to wait on hold for the principal they informed me that she was to busy to address my concerns. After hearing this i was angry and in disbelief that the principal of the school could not take a few minutes of her day to listen to my concerns. At this point i decided that I needed to call the school board and talk to someone who would here my concerns. Shortly after getting off the phone with them she finally found time to return my call. I soon learned that this was not just a coincidence because she showed more anger toward me than she showed concern of my child. After dealing with all of this to address what could have been a minor issue with my child i learned that Blanca Capetillo is not only a poor leader of the school she is also a petty person, which makes her a poor role model for children and and a poor choice for such an important job.

This school is in need of better service in the community. In my 14 years of experience in GCCISD school district it has been challenging when dealing with administration. Black families are discriminated against on so many levels. They do not follow through on protocols that are in place but will document to cover their inadequacies. When dealing with them be sure to document each occurance. Your skin color depends on how you're treated when situations are arise and are addressed.

I taught at this school for 2 years. This school is in a rough area with so many students below grade level. DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE!! Better yet, do not TEACH here. Teachers in some grade levels were cruel and toxic to each other, student behavior was not addressed well with administration, an even bigger problem is that THERE IS NO GOOD TRAINING FOR NEW TEACHERS. THIS DISTRICT SUCKS!!!!!! Working here took a SERIOUS toll on my mental health. If you can avoid this school at all costs, then do so.
