When my daughter first started this school her teacher was awful. She assigned a ton of homework (5 pages a day) for a 1st grader. My son would literally come home crying because he had so much homework. My child would come home constantly telling me stories about how mean his teacher was to the WHOLE class. However, once I brought this issue up to the Principle and Sectary they took swift action. Fast forward to now my child is in the second grade and his teacher is wonderful!! My child is actually excelling ever since he has been in Mrs. A's class. So, I've had my ups and downs with this school, but I can say with confidence that they are consistently trying to improve. Mrs. Sims is a wonderful woman who truly cares about her students.

This is an outstanding school with a very dedicated and hardworking group of teachers and administration. The majority of the teachers have been at this school for ten or more years. They know and respect the community. The area the school is located in is economically depressed with most students from homes of great poverty and little to no education. But the teachers and administration at this school work beyond the norm to get the students up to speed. Lankershim is a beacon of hope in a very dismal city.
