    Highgate went through a tough period of time before 2017 when there was frequent leadership turnover. Three years later, thanks to consistent restorative practice and other relationally based approaches, the school is really beginning to thrive.

    in the last four years, but mostly the last two, this school has not only lost it's leadership but the leadership is working against the teachers and parents which is hurting the children.2017

    The school staff definitely prioritizes the well being of each student and they are passionate about what they do. Communication could be better between all staff members and also with the parents. New principal this year, so hopefully that will be changed. There is lack of staff support and materials to teach ALL the children and to help those understanding material to move forward; as majority have IEP's, 504's or other behavioral/emotional/social issues. The teachers do their best though, with what they have to work with. Not thrilled with the music dept. though at all.
