I love it my daughter is a fifth-grader and she loves to learn in the past she would hate to learn and now thanks to Allen Allen jay she loves to learn and her grades have sky rocked because of all the fun learning

It's all rosy at the beginning but always remember all that glitters most certainly is not gold. A true disappointment.

With a heavy heart I have to be honest and let you know that this school started as a wonderful place to be. We were the first class ever at Allen Jay and 5th grade was the most amazing experience. To watch my child grow and change the way he did that first year was so encouraging. But the enthusiasm left as the school grew. New teachers were hired and they didn't catch the vision of the school. It grew by 400% in 4 years and here we are, 8th grade year and my son does not care about school, he would probably be embarrassed if he got a blazer, but he won't get one because from 5th to 8th grade the behavior change we have seen has been terrible. The blazers do not mean what they are intended to mean. They are basically worn by the "chosen ones" and not one teacher or adminstrator has reached out to discuss my son's decline from always having good grades and receiving a blazer to now being at the bottom. I thought the staff cared, I thought they would look and say wow something must be going on for this drastic change to have occurred. But that isn't the case.

My child HATED school until she started here. The way they teach and get the children excited to learn is awesome!!! I can't say enough good things about the school and the principal Mr Wheat he is awesome!!!

This school is terrific. We love it and our daughter loves it. She is challenged day in and day out and has grown leaps and bounds since her first day back in 2015. EVERYTHING about this school is top-notch and handled very well. From the earning of the blazers and pins by the scholars to the morning rally to communication from Mr. Wheat (Guilford County Principal of the year in 2016-2017) to the energy throughout the building, it is a wonderful school to be a part of. After reading a couple of the negative comments put on here about this school, I decided it was time to leave my own review. Yes every school will have some issues and bad apples--no way around that--but this school does a great job of handling all situations and all scholars have plenty of opportunity to make the most of themselves while there. We are looking forward to the next 2 years for my daughter and my son will be attending in another year. Do yourself a favor and go to this school and see for yourself how dynamic it is.

This school is much less than average. There are issues that I believe have come about because the school grew so fast and because the school has taken mostly students with behavior issues from the worst schools in the county. This school is full of problems but the county will not admit it or even see it because all they see are the best kids in the top of class of each grade.

A positive experience for me as a parent and my scholar! The growth she has shown in leadership and responsibility has multiplied with her confidence. Her thirst for knowledge has been renewed @ this school. It's such an awesome place. You have to experience the school culture in person. Thank you Allen Jay!

My daughter is happy to go to school every day and they are setting a good example for her. In 5th grade she went on several field trips to local universities and she tells me she is going to college even though she is only 11. Her EOGs were very good, too! Excellent principal and motivated staff.
